Still a damned good looking thing.
Sadly now gone (I have a 996 C4S Cabrio now) but I still see it regularly as I sold it to a mate - who likes it smile

Here's some of mine down the years, and currently.

In the background 9000 2.3CSE FBT - owned for seven years.

GM900 2.0 Auto Turbo Convertible - owned for six years - sold to finance home business (worst decision ever made)

96 V4 - 40 years old plus, only thirteen thousand miles - forever in the fleet

GM900XS Auto - still in the family after 9 years, and still going strong.

9000 3.0V6 CSE - workhorse for many years - his/hers.

9000 2.3t Anniversary - workhorse concurrent with the above for many years - hers/his.

9-3SS Aero - endulgence buy - still in the fleet. Love it.

[quote=NiceCupOfTea]I think it's about time we had a Saab piccy thread on here!

I'll kick off with my two:

Love that 900! What exhaust have you on it?
Paint is immacualate...
Have a hankering for some Carlsson rims on mine, but like it original at the moment

Cheers chap!

Paint is not so good close up, but it had just had a mop and polish before that pic was taken!

It has a JT 3" exhaust with a single silencer and 3" downpipe. Sounds lovely and a much quicker spool than standard.

Bought this ridiculously cheap '07 model Aero a couple of years ago and have been impressed with it. Aside from the VED and fuel "economy" which i knew about before buying i've only had a leak from the fuel filter and a spot of rust on the fuel filler cap (they all appear to do that thanks to the stupid lip on the inside) to deal with and it has been great.

Nice. I can justify, in my mind, the RFL. Surprised about your economy - spirited driving? wink

Not really, making progress on an open road is actually ok. Combine a slush box and the large majority of miles in town and you are staring down the barrel of 19-21mpg. But then if i was worried about that i wouldn't have bought it.

Nice wheels - shame they're not handed, though.

Some idiot was driving far too fast in the wet, didn't know how to drive and lost control smashing in to my parked car totalling it.

Hi folks

Just thought I would share some piccies of my refurbed wheels and hood. The wheels are done in Satin Black and I coated them yesterday in G-Techniq C5. The centres are off fleabay for around a fiver. The centres seem sticky enough but time will tell!

The hood has been treated with Renovo hood dye: firstly to get the base dark blue back to one shade and then with black. She is going back in on Tuesday for another coat as I am not happy that it is uniform.

Also having a stage 2 detail on Tuesday as I have never clayed her and polished her before. She was 'just' my daily driver but as we are moving house I am selling our other fun car and keeping the 9-3. When my local detailer gets her immaculate then I can keep her up to that condition (hopefully).

Then off to the SoF and les Grandes Alpes for a fornight in her biggrin

What's the story with the car? Absolutely love them in white! Made me get my T16S out of the garage and go for a blast yesterday cloud9 I am never selling that car!

NiceCupOfTea, I saw the Saab battery in your TVR, wondered if you might have had one back home.

I've only had the Carlsson a few months, we're still getting to know each other. My parents had a few Saabs back when I was young and there was a broken down 99 in the garden that I'd used to sit in and pretend to drive, caught the Saab bug early :-). Fast forward a few years and I was looking through the classifieds for a nice BMW E30 as a 2nd car, when I came across a 900 Carlsson in white. I immediately loved it and called the number on the ad only to find that it had been sold. I spent the next few months watching the classifieds every day until this one popped up in Basingstoke. Myself and my Dad (who was also at this months Sunday Service) jumped in the 93 and hacked it up the motorway. Did our test drive and went to close the deal when the next viewing turned up and offered me a decent chunk of cash to walk away from the deal. I resisted the money but it became clear that there was going to be no haggling on the price from that point on. Parted with my £2,500 and ended up with G837KOG.

I haven't managed to track down much history on it yet, but it seems to have been well maintained, everything has got a good coating of waxoil on it and we haven't had any major problems so far. It appears that a stainless Abbot Racing exhaust has been installed at some point and there's a receipt for a suspension rebuild a few years back.

There's a few bits to do, one of the pulleys occasionally makes a squealing noise, a few bits of the interior need tidying up (cigarette burn in a seat, 'Carlsson' in gear knob needs repainting). The previous owner did a good job of touching up the paint to prevent rust, but unfortunately didn't do a very professional job, so at some point I'd like to give it a respray if I can manage to find a set of replacement decals, or get a set made.
