And another one here.

Just bought a 2006 9-5 Aero Estate today (to replace an Audi A8 that is lovely, but has given me endless trouble)
It sits next to my wife's 1999 9-5 2.3 LPT Estate and my son in law's 2005 9-3 1.9 TiD Estate.

All alongside my Chimaera 500.

Photos to follow tomorrow, with a few questions.

Very nice indeed I had not realised that the roof rails are an optional extra.I do prefer them in the darker colours as yours is.Wait for the Dame Edna comments biggrin

No, I hadn't realised that either. TBH, I prefer it without, and I doubt I would ever use the roof as a mode of transporting larger goods, as I am the owner of an ancient Merc ML 4x4 and a horse trailer.

I do have the roof rack bars that lock onto the rails, as my wife's Super Swedish Shed has roof rails and they came with the car. Luckily for me she always travels light on holiday, so there's no need for a top box even if we do have the dogs in the tailgate area. So the rails are for sale as soon as I can get around to photographing them for Ebay.

It's a manual - I have had only automatics since 1995, including 2 x Lexus LS400, 2 x pervious Saab 9-5s, Merc E320 and Audi A8, but now I have a manual TVR as a fun car, and mainly do out of town motorway/A road miles in my daily driver, I fancied being able to change gear again on the twisty stuff, without waiting half a lifetime for the TipChronic to do its stuff.

I think all Saab 9-5s look good regardless of colour - it's a classic styling.

Wife's £875 Super Swedish Shed

And this is the last view I had of my last Saab - I got run off the road by someone coming the other way texting at 60 mph

Thanks Mac.

It looks worse than it was, as the car ran all the way down to the bottom of the ditch on its wheels, then rolled gracefully over at the last second, without even breaking any glass.
That git with the reflective jacket wrote it off. Absolutely refused to listen when I told him it wasn't damaged and asked him to roll it towards where I took the photo.

Oh no, he knew better, and insisted on pulling it out end over end, which totally trashed it.

It was a 9 year old car, LPG converted, 44,000 miles only. I had waited 6 months watching Autotrader for a fully loaded, low mileage Aero that i could convert. Gutted.

I've had my 2007 150 Tid for 3 weeks (& 1k miles). It's great and such a step up from my late 03 9-5 Vector 2.2 Tid estate. I've just collected the car from a full wheel refurb & also found 2 were the shape of a 50p pence but now back to the proper shape thankfully. I'm just contemplating when I remap it ;-)

Had my Saab for 2 years now, I do like it a lot but hate the woeful stereo. It was also my first Auto which I think I regret as I dont feel as in control of the car as in the past.

Any way I will be changing it soon and I am tempted to get another 9-3 Aero possibly in Estate form. Reason for estate is we will be dropping down to a 1 car family as combined between me and my misses we do around 8k in 2 cars and I annually drive to France. I have a compay van and my misses works around the corner from our house and walks to work. She has a Grande Punto and as you are all probably aware with the seats down in the Punto trips to the local tip, Ikea etc are far easier then the 9-3 saloon.

Previously I have had a Rover 100 GTA (LOL) Rover 220 Tomcat, Alfa 156 and now the Saab 9-3. Currently looking at a Alfa 159, Saab 9-3 aero, Mazda 6 sport. around 2009.

I love the speed in the Saab especially 3rd gear onwards and the looks. I just hate the Auto. would an Aero in Manual completely change my views for the better in an Aero.

Mine's the black 9-5 Aero estate manual, pictured with barns above.....£1500. If you live anywhere the east Midlands you are welcome to try it. Just that bit more room in a 9-5.

My 5ft4 wife hated our Audi A8 and Merc EClass estate.

Her Saab 9-5, which she loves, is the light green one further up the page. It's only a tad bigger than our son-in-law's 9-3, the extra room is between the rows of seats.

Email me if you find yourself over Newark way.

New pics of my Saab 9000 Aero (300bhp), after being cleaned and detailed today.
Also showing its new PH Sticker on the rear.

Think a few of the Camberley lads have already spotted me.

Had this a few weeks now - sold the old 9-3 as that one was a non-turbo. This is a turbo, albeit lpt:

Lovely piece of kit, love the colour combo! Can you upgrade the LPT to HOT?

With a visit to Saab Noob LPT goes from 150bhp to 220 (FPT goes from 185bhp to 220). HOT goes from 205bhp to 250 smile
