That looks great - look after it! I have developed a bit of a soft spot for my 2.3T winter shed. It's got a dodgy gearbox and bits of rust but it just keeps going, very comfortable and with a decent turn of speed too!

Nice - 16v turbo. What's the spec? Any problems? Have you had a good rummage for rust? Looking forward to getting mine out of the garage smile

1991, red ECU, 2 owners, 85k. Just out of 10 years dry storage.
New brake pipes, radiator, tyres, battery & MOT.
Should be a nice old classic with a bit of work!
Nice!

Damn the photo size limit. All my best pics are just over 2mb. Anyway, here's my pride and joy.

1997 manual aero with stage 2 ecu, abbott exhaust, poly bushes and engine mounts, new springs and shocks, new beefed up clutch and flywheel, gearbox rebuild, toyo proxys all round. Loads of other bits and bobs done to it.

My general observation is that the car drives better the faster i go. Its not great at low speeds and really does egg you on. My dads standard car is much more refined but completely numb when you want to move quickly.

The abbott exhaust is too loud really. Wouldnt have another one. Any alternative recommendations very welcome.
My 9000 is a cheap shed I use for the putting the miles on - had a gig in rural East Sussex yesterday and rather than braving the A21 on a sunny Saturday afternoon I took the cross country route (lanes and tiny villages down through Edenbridge and beyond). Wasn't expecting to enjoy it in the 9000 as I often drive those roads in the 900 or my TVR, but it was quite entertaining! OK, the handling is pretty ropey on 150k mile suspension & bushes, but decent tyres, 200bhp and (the clincher) good ground clearance makes it a blast to hustle! Was much quicker than in either of the fun cars (probably also because I tend to baby the others as they are my P&Js).

Not sure where I am going with this post - except to say I think the Kilen/Bilstein suspension on the 900 is going to go for some standard OEM T16S springs for a bit more ground clearance. So many scrapes with the sumpguard on country lanes frown Could enjoy the MX-5 more than I enjoy the TVR, probably due to the relative values of them...

Re: exhausts - had a JT 3" drainpipe fitted to the 900 a few years back and it makes a great sound and the turbo certainly spools more quickly, but it is a bit incessant on the motorway. If/when it rots off I'm tempted to get a custom s/s one made up. There's a guy on PH with a Morgan Aero 8 who got a custom exhaust fabricated at a place in Brixton that he reckoned they made to his exact requirements (loud when you want it, subtle burble at idle, quiet at "normal" revs. Probably pricey though!

Apache, glad to hear it's still going well! What sort of power is that putting out? My dad had an early CS 2.3T in scarab green, K132 AVN IIRC.

Anyway, here's mine - 2 years ago I bought it for buttons to get me through the winter. Just keeps passing the MOT! Planning on going for a stage 1 remap soon.

Thanks. Its been garaged most of its life but unfortunately i dont have a garage to put in it. Ive been looking at those instant car garages but my god they're expensive.
Get a decent breathable car cover, worth spending the money IMHO.
