Improving Fuel Economy 9-5 Aero HOT Estate Auto
Discussion
I have just bought a 2005 9-5 Aero estate Auto. On the 40 mile trip that was mainly motorway at a steady 70-75 i saw an average on 34 mpg on the trip. If i can keep it above 30 mpg on the motorway i will be pleased.
As a comfortable cruiser with space i dont know of anything else that comes close from a value for money point of view.

I also have a 9-5 Aero auto estate.
Mine is a 2000 vintage (older 4sp auto).
Mpg is 32-34 on motorway runs at 70mph.
Considerably less in stop start city traffic.
A remap will help with both economy and power.
You can look at others, but Karl (Saabnoob) is hugely respected for his mapping of Saabs.
Noobtune.co.uk or find him on the UK Saabs website (along with a small army of recommendations for his work).
Only thing I can add to comments of others is that I find Shell V Power Nitro is by far the best fuel for these cars.
May cost a few pence more per litre but car runs so much better on it.
Oh and for comfort along with practicality, only Volvo comes close (Saab 9-5 Aero has better seats though).
