Dai

Reading some of the other threads it is apparant that you have done some sterling work on upgrading your Saab(s).

If there isnt an existing thread, and if you have time, could you possibly outline what you did regarding suspension mods, together with approx prices and some kind of assessment as to the benefits?

I have an 07 Aero 'vert which has been Noob'ed so Iam fairly cntent powerwise but I would be interested in hearing about your views on suspension.

TIA - cheers smile

Edited to add: WHY CANT YOU AMEND THE TITLES ON THREADS...or indeed read them before posting rolleyes..it should read Suspension banghead damn typing; damn chunky fingers; damn rubbish steam driven laptop!!

Lol! I wouldn't go that far! I usually pay someone to fit the oily bits wink

All I've done to mine is-

Eibach springs
Bilstein B8
Maptun Strut Brace
Rainsport 3 tyres (235/45/17) ....awesome Tyres but very soft sidewalls.

I try to get as much used/2nd hand kit as possible, as long as it's decent quality parts I've always tried to do this (works out a lot cheaper) but if you wanted new I'd get the Eibachs from ebay, b8's & Brace from Neo's & Tyres from camskill.

I've also mildly upgraded the brakes (had to with the remap as it wouldn't stop!) nothing mad like a big brake kit, just replaced the discs/pads/lines & fluid-

Mtec discs (direct from Mtec....just get plain)
Yellow stuff R pads (Neo Bros)
HEL lines (Direct from HEL but check what size you need as I think it's either 10 or 12mm)
RBF600 fluid

^^^^that lot including fitting was around £400-450 give or take?

There's a few bits I still need to fit, Polly front engine mount & 3 point subframe brace, hoping to fit these next week. The mounts supposed to be worth it, jury's out on the brace as I don't think anyone's fitted it back here yet?

Thanks folks

So if you were looking to upgrade the suspension, what would you do and in what order? Approx prices of each bit would be useful too.

I am looking at bit-by-bit so I can slip it under MrsO's 'radar' so to speak whistle as she doesnt have fond memories of the upgrades I did to my TVR a while ago hehe

i got the springs from Larkspeed and the B8,s from Neo brothers, the prices are all on there websites, you would probably want to do the uprated meyle drop links and strut tops at the same time, i think i got the above from partsforsaabs
