Off to look at a 9-3 vert tomorrow in a rather fetching metallic line yellow. I ignored it on my first pass, but the more I look, the more it grows on me.

Seems a bit of a marmite colour - as I only tend to keep cars for about a year interested to know any experience on whether this is a bit of a killer come resale or not - I think it suits the car a lot better than silver!

I'm not buying it for the next person but just interested to know experience of others and if this takes a while to sell or you have found you had to drop the price because of it

I hated it when it first came out, but then it'd been a while since Saab did a decent yellow - the Viggens and GM900 cabrios cropped up quite a bit in yellow. I rapidly mellowed to the yellow however, and if one had appeared in the right spec I'd have had it.... It helps that they used it a lot in the adverts so people did adjust to it.

I suspect you're right though, in this day an age of every car being Audisilver or Audiblack, it is a bit marmite.

Went, saw and bought - sod the resale value - the spec, history and condition was just what I was after, and it looked pretty stunning in the sunshine. Have to wait and see what it looks like with 2inches of snow on a cold winters day - on the plus side I'll never lose my car in a car park again!

We have the said same colour, I agree, you love it or hate it, we love it!

Ours is an 05 Areo, bought it in early 2007 with 19k on the clock, with Hirch re-map and lowered susspension.

A second garage at the time had a dark blue model with sat nav but in a lower spec / engine. Sales guy told me that 'his' car would be easier to sell, as the 'other' car I was looking at was not a 'popular' colour. Only his opinion!

Well, we ignored him, bought the car, and never regreted it. It started as the main family car, and is now the wifes daily school runner. I have suggested that we should perhaps change it for something more economical (more mpg, cheaper tyres, insurance and road tax etc), but feel she may trade me in before the car!

Good choice, hope you enjoy it!

I love it! It's a great colour, especially when the sun is shining.

Still getting used to that first view when you open the curtains in the morning and Boom! It hits you square between the eyes!!

Really like it - the wife wasn't 100% when I went to look at it but is really liking it now. A couple of bmw fanboys at work are trying to give me grief but they can shove it when the lime metallic doesn't shine!

Have just bought an immaculate 2006 2.8 V6 convertible with 40K on the clock

It is the first time me and my wife have ever agreed on a car or the colour

So far only my 80 year old mother and an old guy at the gym have said they don't like the colour
and about 100 people have said they love it

It went round Cadwell last week rather well as well - and my other car is a TVR!!

Cheers

Remap it asap!! Trust me it transforms the car smile

JZW (what I've got) is brutally, but eats to clutch due to the extra torque so need to be aware of that as it'll slip at stage 1.

Others are Hirsch, Maptun (still v.quick!!)

It already has Hirsch performance and BBS 19" alloys and lowered springs

Yeah, mine slipped once at stg 1, still worked fine for two years as a mate bought it and never bothered getting it done.

Mine only really let's go if I floor it in 4th/5th/6th. Take it from 3rd and it's ok all the way to light speed smile Little hiccup around 4k then it's off. Needs upgrading though, just need to decide soon which way to go.

Let me down last year though having fun with a EP3 CTR!! Christ knows what that was putting out but it was insane! Probably supercharged & stripped out the way it shifted!! Couldn't get near him....so picked on an M3 instead hehe

I've had an '06 plate Aero in Lime Yellow for the past 5 years.

It still gets comments - and is easy to find in a car park.

IMO the colour works well on these.
