I tried it and it sounded way beter than the one in mine (2003), plus it didnt make the door cards rattle, think there was an amp in a cubby in the boot, unless it was some hood related malarkey. Hopefully the CD wont skip like the one in mine either. the dash controls seem to have faired better and didnt have that semi permanent rubber coating that falls off.
Love the boot, can fit a Pizza in, as long as it isnt a Deep Pan.
Yeah the 2003/2006 stereo is dreadful, I've got the full 13 speaker set up in mine and its still crap, no idea how much that 'upgrade' cost the original owner but its pants. Even deadening the car to death hasn't made it a hell of a lot better, I've swapped the 6x9's for some Genesis P69's which made a massive difference but the front is still poor. I think the amps are in the boot in the 2006 onwards cars?, pull the rear seats down and there might be some 6x9 woofers there?. I'm not 100% on this system though so not sure what's the best way to upgrade if that's the plan? I'd probably fit a decent double din though, Pioneer or Clarion would be my choice or a nice used Alpine......no way of doing that in mine but have gotten around it with a single din in place of my CD player (lots & lots of work)
Hmm, interesting - i have the "infortainment plus" system (whatever that is meant to mean) in my 03 cab and i thought it sounds quite decent - have a little rattle on a speaker cover if you turn it up too far but cured that by knocking the bass down a notch.
Is there a sub in there somewhere? it sounds like it to me.
Mine is the 2.0T auto - what sort of improvements would you expect from a re-map in the lower price range and is it really worth it for a daily 10 mile commute would you say?

Mid-range 'grunt' is greatly improved and for £80/£100 a very worthwhile.

Cool that they can be remapped cheaply now, I put the BSR map on and it woke it up and made it feel like I thought it should.
Does Saabnoob do all Saabs, jackos mates is obviously the SS model which I thought was more difficult to do due to the ecu checksums/security ?
