Chaps,

First time in these Swedish parts for me ... so be gentle!

I have a friend with a 1997 Saab 900 Convertible. He's had it since new, and the alarm/immobiliser is playing up. By the sounds of it, the red light on the dashboard has stopped working and the remote key fobs won't unlock the car or de-arm the immobiliser. He is currently locked out of his car (he can open the doors with the key but it makes the alarm go off).

I've done a bit of hunting around for him and it seems that this model of car had an immobiliser module which lives under the passenger seat. Does anyone have any experience of this? It also seems that you can wire the immobiliser out of circuit by bridging certain wires on the immobiliser (8 to 20, 9 to 21, 10 to 22 - suggesting that the immobiliser cuts three circuits).

Is this the case? Does anyone have any experience of this model of car? If this is the case, it seems that one answer is to buy a replacement immobiliser module, with the key fobs that are coded to it, and simply to swap the replacement module in for the old one. Anyone any ideas where you could buy such a module? There is nothing listed on eBay, but if someone had the part number that would help immensely!

If anyone can shed any pearls of wisdom I'd be grateful, thanks.

Oli.
