Thank you to all for the suggestions, I did have a look at Thorney Motorsport but the distance needed to be traveled, cost of the work and the time it was going to take is just too much for me at the moment.

However, it is booked into Ballards of Finchley SAAB for Monday. Their service over the phone was excellent so fingers crossed the actual work will be also. Plus they aren't a 200 mile round trip or more away from me which helps. I'll let you know how it all goes and report back once I have the car back.
Good luck. My family have bought and had our Saabs serviced by Ballards for over 20 years now. Always found the service excellent, so hope you do too.

Thanks all,

The positive referral is reassuring. I'm looking forward to taking it there actually. As before I'll report back after the jobs completed.

Right so apologies for not responding when I said I would. Unfortunately after taking the car for the service, upon inspection a relatively simple service of the xwd system/diff wasn't going to service.

The cv gaiter had split on the left hand size which was leaking and the seals had completely perished both of which were not in stock and required ordering in, which meant the car was with them until about 15.30 today.

On top of that the cups!? (I forget what they're called) that the rear suspension sits on/in turned out to be completely perished and also needed replacing as they just fell apart when removed!

In all honesty it turned out ot be a much bigger job than expected and I'd like to say the Ballards of Finchley were great however, unfortunately I just can't...

as that would be an injustice as to just how excellent their service was. Daily, informative updates by phone. A thorough explanation of the options available to me. Cost reductions on the final bill where possible which were offered not requested, not only would I not have a bad word to say about the Garage, and Geoff who I spoke to throughout the whole process but I would 110% recommend them for anyone else needing work done. I am very impressed.

As for the car, I'm glad I've had the work done although the drive home in traffic did not really let me push the car to see if I can hear/feel any difference. Regardless the peace of mind of knowing that its been attended to is keeping me content.

Glad to hear you had such a positive experience. I have always found Geoff and David at Ballards to be excellent, so glad it was the same for you.
