So..
Replaced downpipe and cat and middle section of exhaust with a nice new stainless steel job. I did this as i thought that a rattling noise when cold was the cat (as did a mechanic). It would appear that all though i have a nice shiney exhaust this has done f
k all to the noise issue.
So we move neatly on to the timing chain and cover, this is seaping oil and the rattle is coming from that area.
Advice please? Is this an engine out job can the chain itself be replaced? Any idea on cost?
If relevant 154k on engine, its also running a little 'lean' im told
