Hi there,

I have had my Saab 93 Vector Sport Estate 1.9 TiD for 4 years and I think she needs a bit of tlc. She has done just over 121k and my job has changed over the last few months so I can expect to do about 12-15k over the next year, maybe more. I have always had the car serviced regularly. Just recently changing the EGR (would have tried to clean but no time) and rear disks. Last year I needed a new gear turret and a few other bits and pieces. I had the cambelt done at around 87k.

There are a few scraps which I think need attending to (x4, estimate around £250), plus the aircon (which has never worked) which I have always shied away from fixing as I was quoted +£400 from a few places to fix. The front right foglight also needs changing as has broken glass, again, quote high, over £250 so I have not changed.

I paid for the car with a 5 year loan, so with 1 year left I am wondering whether its worth spending more money but I am not terribly keen to ditch yet as I like the car. I find the car fairly nippy, and has good fuel economy. I am tempted to get the car remapped, to add another 30bhp, I have been quoted around £250 from Avon Tuning. Its a comfy place to spend time although I hate the cream inserts in the black leather chairs as they are so stain happy.

Anyway, I think I need some advice in respect of; is there anything I could/should be doing to prolong the life of the car? does anyway have any experience of a decent saab garage in or around Somerset? Is it worth getting the car re-mapped?

Thanks for any comments.
Cheers
