The Dave Allan Trophy Race
Discussion
Synchro Motorsport will be staging the 3rd Dave Allan Trophy Race at Castle Combe on 25th May. Synchro will be entering the Civic and Jazz, hopefully with an interesting driver line up yet to be confirmed. As Dave was a popular driver in the Britcar paddock we would love to see some entries from his fellow Britcar competitors. There is a change of format again this year to a 45 minute race with a compulsory three minute pit stop. It will be a handicap race with the handicap being announced after qualifying. That means there is a good chance for any class of car to win one of the impressive trophies. Regs and entry forms are available on the BRSCC website http://www.brscc.co.uk but the main points are;
45 minute race with up to 2 drivers per car.
25 minute qualifying.
70 minutes total track time, for just £375.00 per car, + £25.00 for each extra driver
Compulsary 3 minute pit stop with optional refueling.
Pit’s to car radio allowed.
Rolling Start.
Declared handicap following qualifying.

I raced in the first trophy race, it is just a shame it is no longer pushed to the front. I stumbled across the only mention of the race I have seen by accident. 10 cars on the grid what's all that about ? Britcar did all the logistics for the first race are they no longer involved ?
A huge thanks to everyone involved in the Dave Allan Trophy Race yesterday. Many of Dave's friends entered the race and it was great to welcome family and friends as spectators. In the end we had 28 entries of which 24 actually started the race. The revised race length proved popular with both spectators and competitors with Roy Stephenson from Richmond Yorkshire in his MX5 emerging as a somewhat surprised but happy winner. Synchro Motorsport as the race organisers were delighted to see local driver Dan Ludlow pick up 2nd place in his beautifully prepared Honda Civic Type R, the same car in which Dave Allan won the 2009 production class 2 championship in Britcar. Final place on the podium went to Dengate and Roche in another Mazda MX5. Fastest qualifier trophy went to David Krayam in the ultra quick Ginetta G50. We are already planning for next year and hope we will be able to announce our plans much earlier than this year with a view to getting an even bigger entry next year.
