Saw you yesterday around 10:50am about 1/2 mile from the entrance to the Heritage Motor Centre/Supercar Sunday. Hope whatever is wrong doesn't keep you off the road for long. For what its worth, TVRs look awesome on the back of a transporter smile

That was me frown

It was the lower ball joint that had popped, luckily it went bang on the Island and not on the M40!

This is a heads up for anyone changing their ball joints.........Please only use those manufactured by 'Lemforder' . the one that failed was bought from a major part distributor and basically wasn't up to the job IMHO.

On the plus side I managed to video an hours worth of fast cars before the truck turned up.

I notice it has the round base (Lada) type i think, if anyone has this style it should be inspected and if poss removed.

I used the part number/description from the equivalent parts thread http://redirectingat.com/?id=1044X509854&xs=1&...
when ordering from the local motor factors...however I didn't specifically ask for the Lemforder ones (because I hadn't known about them). I have since found out they are alot stronger than run of the mill stuff......these arrived today

to hopefully instil some confidence back in the car, my nerves have taken a battering.

Hope this helps, because thats what I believe forums are all aboutthumbup

That's brilliant Mark, with this post you may have saved a lot of people some trouble and possibly more.
This is why these forums are so popular.

Just a quick update...maybe I should do a proper thread yes

Here's a pic of the ball joints side by side, you can tell immediately which is the good one.

Hi Kevin, I'll take a proper look this weekend, there are some deepish grooves, although that might just be the powder coating (It's pretty thick )..... sods law, I'd just had them refurbed.

Plus I'll do a proper 'ball joint thread' just in case anyone does a search in the future.
