Never thought Ardent Red really suited the Elise, Exige or even the Evora - but on the V6 and with black detailing on the Evora Sports Racer it looks great.

Is it me, or does it not seem to suit the wilder colours as much as the S2?

I'm yet to see a bright coloured one mind & purely making such an outrageous statement from photos only!

I would crawl over broken glass for one of these in any colour biggrin

I think it REALLY suits them - when I went up to the factory a few months back there was three of us there and this car literally stopped us in our tracks.

Both the guys their changed their orders to Chrome Orange pretty much on the spot. If I had the money for one it would be that or Solar Yellow.

Wow, they look good, particularly the yellow, cheers.

I'm dying to see one in a bright colour. My last toy was bright orange & current one is isotope, so clearly I've a thing for the louder colours biggrin

I sat in Stratstones demo a couple of days ago. Great car & must say it did look surprisingly good in a dark grey. Hoping to get a drive sometime in May.

It could prove to be the most expensive drive of my life. banghead

I spent weeks trying to work out what colour to get, bloody nightmare. In the end the misses input swayed me, "cool and classy" she said, so I've gone eith metallic carbon grey .

Congrats on the carclap-just dump the missusbyebye Loud and proud not cool and classy. Seriously; I think they're all great and resale me be a touch easier even if thats not the idea at the moment. Lots of people adore the bright colours, but lots also do what your missus has suggested out of 'fear'.

Your right simpo, there was a touch of fear, I should add I was considering aswell as carbon grey, ardent red or chrome orange, and she thought the bright colours were "look at me, I'm having a mid life crisis" lol, so I thought , well I don't really want to look like that and she's gotta like it as she will be in it at least 10 days a year for a euro road trip, so cool and classy it is. Obviously, part of me thought who cares what other people think, but it was all that stuff in my head for about three weeks coming to a decision, finding every photo I could find, losing sleep etc! .

Still, it's the first and probably last new car I have/will ever buy. Waiting for it is torture. smile

That's the colour of the one Silverstone have in the showroom - looks utterly stunning in carbon grey have no fear!

My missus' view of the brighter colours....such as the lime green one...is

"Yeah it's a nice colour...but not on my car"
"Why not?"
"I'm not a 12 year old boy".

She may have a point!

I'm more in the camp of silly car = silly colour biggrin

Must admit though, this new Exige does seem to suit the less leary shades.

If i was getting a standard Exige I'd choose Military Grey after having seen loads of different colours at the factory.

It's really stunning in the flesh, and a more unusual take on the metallic grey theme but you have to see it in real life to appreciate it. I wouldn't have even considered it until I saw it.

so Mr Pit's, with all this fawning over one, why have you not rushed out to buy one yet?

Really enjoying the pleasure you guys are getting from the anticipation [and you know what they say about that in all walks of life] but thought a 'distance view' might add some perspective to all the euphoria.
I was almost the first person to put my money down it seems years ago one August[bejabers, it was years ago!]
I won't bore you with the details but one has to judge anything on results and speculation as to reasons is interesting but unproductive. The results for me were a long term shambles and I cancelled, fairly recently because I decided that Lotus cars [who you are buying from irrespective of ownership] could not, will not, and never has been able to organise a piss up in a brewery and I was suffering from this for the fourth time over 3 decades! Also I have read nothing since I cancelled to make me regret my decision as it appears from your comments to be continuing as before.
I am an ex biker and have always been into fast but flickable vehicles. I think the new Exige is an amazing looking car but apart from 'the problems' look at the facts. What top sports car doesn't have LSD? [electronic ones put the brakes on not get the power down!] ALL LOTUS RACE CARS HAVE LSD!
Lotus sells on 'flickability' but how can you flick something that feels like a tank [imho, because I don't want to get sued!] because you need weight training to turn it. Also when it supposedly doesn't matter, at speed, I tried to adjust on an 70 mph [very approx] corner and added to the cornering forces was the steering effort which certainly did not make it feel light and flickable imho but then I am not a brilliant driver so what do I know? It is however my money to decide with and I did.
I have gone from the frying pan into the fire however as I am now waiting, again. This time for a 991 GT3 but at least I know it will happen; on time; with quality guaranteed and all [in some opinions, too much] of the very latest technology.
But its double the price you say and you are right. However if you remember long ago when this car was first tested by EVO [ and received good reports] I was lucky enough to talk to some of the testers who told me that it is an excellent British sports car but GT3s are excellent world sports cars! When asked by me as to which previous GT3 roughly equated to the Exige V6 they thought possibly the 997.1 which currently sells for around £50k.
In 3 years time which car do you think would be worth more and wearing better out of these 2 £50k cars?
Maybe it doesn't matter as with my opinions so all pistonheads enjoy whatever you drive before it all goes electric or banned!

A very strange response to me posting some colours up?

Care to explain why me liking Military Grey and Autumn Bronze causes any offence?
