What you're missing out on is driving a 140bhp car at 9/10ths as opposed to the more powerful car at 6/10ths.
It's good to have some extra in reserve to get you out of that trouble u got yourself into.
And then, when conditions allow, on track etc, take the quicker car to 9/10ths and really have some fun!

I have 250hp in my Europa and burning along one of the great roads around Chipping Norton this morning I was not convinced the power made it more fun, just meant I had more cars to overtake as I kept coming up on them so quickly.
I, like everyone else get sucked into the power chase but I am not convinced that more power on the road equals more fun. I had a 7 with only 120hp and when I upped it to 260hp the smile did not get any bigger.
Having said that 350hp in the Exige does look a lot of fun....

I'm thinking the v6 exige will sell more before its released than an evora has in total.
Really looking forward to the reviews.

Where is all the technical information regarding the new S/C Elise. The lotus website is poor.

Thorburn said: More is certainly nice, but you're right, rare that you ever get to use it. Even with a 120bhp Elise I spend most decent straights on part throttle, simply not worth the risk of losing my license or wiping myself out. Corners are the fun bits anyway So your more likely to wipe yourself out by putting your foot down on a straight, than tearing round corners?

How many Lotus owners are capable of getting anywhere near 90% out of their cars, on track never mind the road. I don't have any problem with overpowered cars (as Scuffers described). Life would be so boring if we didn't have such a thing. And in the right hands they are a joy to watch.

Your probably right OlberJ, although I do make it a rule never to go further north than one tank allows. To be fair the road I was on is constantly listed as one of the best roads in the UK, just too many people on it. Wales on the other hand is not that far and can be very empty on the back roads...
Watching that black V6 on the ad I can't image there is one person on Pistonheads who would not want a go.
The trouble round here is the roads are so bumpy, which is where the supercharged Evora is looking favourite.

Ditto, I've been starving for more information since frankfurt. Heard nothing from any magazine. I wonder when someone outside the factory is going to drive it. I was invited by Lotus Silverstone to visit the factory this weekend to view the car. Painfully I can't make it. They're combining it with a trip to watch Norwich City play as well. Anyone interested I suggest they call Lotus Silverstone asap. Only thing I hadn't seen was this: much the same as before but more close up. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e1vqlk625G8

They're not doing public drives until it's completed emission, safety and performance testing and is fully type approved apparently - would be a legal nightmare if anything went wrong up until that point. Posted some information on when you can expect dealer demo cars to start arriving last week: SELOC - MY12 Range Set To Hit Dealers Soon. Mid-to-late January for the Exige S V6 and Elise S.

I've specced my car, delivery in Feb/March. Spoken with a couple of people who are involved at Hethel, and confident it won't be a disappointment...
Press cars in production from November.
Counting the days!
