I think the AD08s might be better in the wet than the Advan 07s. I feel a lot more confident in it anyway.

Toyo R-1R's are yet another option - if you've got a login on SELOC search for R1R to find various perspectives on them. Not particularly cheap, mind you, and the compound softness that gives them the grip means the wear rate is on the higher end. The tread pattern means they're still useful in the wet smile.

Wooden feel also hints at something amiss somewhere else in the suspension IME - never found anything lacking in the feel dept with Advans in comparison to the other tyres I've tried.

It's all subjective, obviously, though.
It hints at them being hard (which they are). I do like the tyres to feel rubbery - so yes it is subjective, and it is nothing specific to the Elise.

Hard tyres like heat - give them some!

I don't know if anyone has used these over in the UK, but in NZ, the Bridgestone Potenza RE11 would be my pick. It's a shame as my father put some on his car and commented that they were excellent on the one drive he had on them, unfortunately the car was then written off.... I was really looking forward to testing them out!

I run Falken ZE912s on my 205, and am very pleased with them. Not sure how they'd transfer onto an MR car rather than an FF. Although they do share lightness and LOOS.

The Elise has an unusual combination of light weight and fat tyres (especially the rears on 111S, which I think are fatter than standard S1?) and some tyres simply don't work at all and make the car dangerous. Don't just try new ones for the sake of it.
