What are you hoping for figures wise? 2000bhp? 3000bhp? Or are we rivaling 12,000,000bhp and 17,000mph this time around? Can't imagine you'll be happy until you and the little Lotus gets there!

Fingers crossed you'll have more fortune this time around.

Out of curiosity, how long do you actually expect an engine in a similar state of tune to last for before going bang? Can you get 30k miles out of a 700bhp 2.0 engine? 50k? 100k? What's a reasonable expectation? Obviously you'll rip it to bits and try and find another xxxbhp before then anyway, but just curious.

My engines have never gone bang, spun bearing due to oil starvation is almost normal in any tracked 2ZZ powered Lotus.
The new dry sump setup should take care of that issue.. wink

As for HP numbers I don't really care as long as I don't go backwards. The new MP90 supercharger is to increase the torque even lower in the rpm range.

Stay tuned for updates...

Did it have a baffled sump before?
Saw the dry sump on your blog, looks a lot smaller than the regular sump - does it mean you could possibly mount the engine lower? Or is the effort of new/modified engine mounts etc not worth it for slightly lower CoG?

Blog ??

My dry sump tank holds 7 qts. of oil and with the rest of the system topped off should have about a 8-9 qt capacity total, stock sump holds 5qt. my old baffled sump held 6qts....
It's not about capacity but constant oil pressure without aerated oil in the corners under high Gs.

You can not mount the engine any lower since the gearbox/axel angles dictate drivetrain placement, not to mention the bell housing clearance to the belly pan.
You can't shrink the gearbox. If you want a better CoG you have to make a wider track.... My car is 13.5" wider in the rear than a standard 211.

New oil tank with baffles and center feed pick up..

ha, thanks, will join when I get a moment. Did you ever end up using the glasses/heads up display, or did you ditch that idea? Seem to recall you looking into it..

I haven't used it yet but I will as soon as I'm done with the new tuning....
Was on the dyno for a bit until the pulley belt shredded. Got the start idle dialed in and the engine makes 15 psi. of boost at 1,500rpm, that's 240 ft tq right off idle... cool

I'll be back on the dyno this week end.

So shiny I can't tell what colour it is!

Have you gone back to primer (ish) grey? Looks a bit darker. I prefered the grey to the white anyway! Look forward to seeing the rest of the pics.

Same color as before... The cool thing is the color is really affected by the ambient lighting.

If you're going back to Primer Grey at least get some colour highlights on there. Be that stripes or Martini decals or whatever.

If you think a paint job with this much depth and shine is primer grey you have never seen primer grey. wink

Please feel to pimp out your own car with stripes or free advertisements to please others, I'll take the road less traveled..

JDM drifters with Matte Black/grey paint by the bucket load may beg to differ!

Appreciate this ain't a crappy wrap or Halfords rattle cans but a little highlight goes a long way.

Looked spot on first time around IMO, colour wise

Is a nice colour.
