That's another Europa S up for sale now: http://www.pistonheads.co.uk/sales/3893454.htm

23K, looks like they are all going to be hovering around this price point now.
These aren't really moving at these prices are they:

SE - 23k

This one has been advertised for a few months - 17.5k
http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/3686860.htm

20k

23k

21k
http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/3907773.htm

25k wink
http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/3858480.htm

I think within 12 months these will be in the 13-15k range?

As for the Evora, nearly in the 20's

Will be interesting to see how prices pan out over the next 12 months - any predictions?

I don't think it's beyond the realms of possibility. The ones that have sold have been in the 16's (apart from the original black dealer one at 20k). A further drop of 1k over the next 12 months isn't unreasonable.

I think it's clear that 20+ is too high in the current climate though.

Lots of interest in mine and also a number of offers of trades in either direction. I could of sold at least 3 times now if I was prepared to bend a bit more. Will get a bid I'm happy with eventually or will just continue enjoying the car myself.

When you say 'bend' does that equate to dropping the price to 16/17k? smile

It is a nice car, looks lovely in the video...just imo but I still think 20+ is a tad optimistic. But who knows, it all depends on how badly someone wants one - good luck with it.

I bought an 08 plate Europa last year and love it. I've owned 2 Elises (s1 & s2) but I've found this car a lot more rounded as a day to day bit of fun..

I plan to keep it until the prices rise further. I've been looking out for a good SE for almost 12 months now and monitoring prices over the period (unscientific you understand smile ). Supply and demand will see a crossover in price for the "bottom end" Evora and "top end" Europas within the next 2 years. The SEs have all but disappeared - when I eventually acquire one, I shan't let it go without a fight.

Just curious, but why do you want the SE so badly, is it the interior? My understanding is a 225 upgraded S is broadly equivalent performance-wise and doesn't incur the £450 VED.

The SE is a fully loaded 225bhp lux touring but with some higher spec AP brake calipers and a very nice set of wheels. It's the best Europa you can get so the most desirable. How much more its worth over the other models is down to the buyer.

I've had all sorts of offers, one cash but more including a trade in, one of which tempted me. Im from the school that isn't offended by any offer as long as its genuine. I've worked as a buyer and expect a bit of negotiation and enjoy the sport. I'm talking to a few people and I've not struck a deal yet for the right money but I'm sure it will come, I have now dropped 1500 from my original asking price. If you are interested in the car bid me, I don't take any offence at low offers I will just politely say no to a low offer or may counterbid someone a bit closer if they are a serious buyer. I haggle hard buying my own cars so am not suprised when others do the same to me.

Pay attention to the all the window seals. Some friends of mine had an SE and Lotus had clearly run out of trim by the end of production and couldn't be bothered to manufacture any more so came up with a bodge for the seal around the windows behind the doors. It looked shabby when compared to earlier ones, leaked like a sieve and spoiled what was otherwise a very nice car.

Being a pragmatist if you buy a car and use it, it will devalue, around 2007/2008 you could pick up unwanted Europa's for around £22-£23K the market did not like them for whatever reason today if you have one you can sell it for between £16-18K you can see for yourselves that the cars in this bracket sell. Optomistic price hiking of over £20K would probably take a long time to sell unless its an SE, the one for sale at £23K is probably priced right in my opinion.

Give it twenty-thirty years maybe the ones that are left will be worth something maybe just maybe.....but then we will probably have run out of petrol ! ;-)

Regarding the Evora well, it looks like standard depreciation to me, A new Merc 350 S Blue Tech was £60 odd grand in 2010 two years later it has devalued (Swoons & faints at the shock) it is now http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/3978884.htm @ £38,999 ( it says this one has big spec)

Lotus and other car's are all subject to the laws of depreciation....... It tends to be the more expensive the bigger engined cars some devalue faster than others or is it the gap of 30% in the first couple of years is more noticeable on more expensive cars .

So have Evora's lost more money than your average prestige motor I would suggest not, just the same % points

4 years 40k, not a big job, same as vx220 turbo. Full GM kit is about 100 pounds and its only a few hours Labour. There is a guide on the VX forum if you want to DIY.

Those stripes were painted on at the factory.

FWIW, I'd prefer an SE with standard S wheels (if the brakes would allow it)... not sure I like the multi-spoke jobs on the SE...

The SE needs those bigger wheels to fit over the larger brakes. When I collected my car from Russell from Lotus Sport he mentioned that he had considered adding the big AP calipers, as the car has every other SE extra bar wheels and big brakes. He mentioned to fit those calipers he would have also needed to of added the wheels/tyres so gave up on the idea.

Yes I agree, I prefer the S wheels to the SE ones, I can't decide whether I prefer silver or black though...silver maybe...decisions, decisions smile
