those RST engines also sad in some caterhams I believe? but very expensive and I guess not so long living?

Forgot about this Lotus the Motorsport lotus, which does have the engine longitudinal biggrin but sadly they only made one I believe? and was also very expensive, although very nicely made.

http://hazelnet.org/motorsport_exige/index.htm

and of corse some GT1 elise's with V8 and longitudinal engine lay out, but those are also a bit way of market (or how you mane such car) and very rare and ow expensive too biggrin

As usual, your trying to defend the indefensible....

None of them have demonstrated anything, period.

Rst is the hayabusa v8 right? Radical use them in the SR8 and the Caterham Levante.

They are definitely expensive.

This is a build you do if you plan on keeping it for ever. If you want a better car than the Lotus you can buy it not build it.

I'm still waiting for Hennessey to follow me through the canyons or post some lap times...

I hope this guy enjoys all the time and money he put into this project, I know I dig mine but I just did a few mods. biggrin

I thought that! A little bit whizzy/ washing machiney but I suspect that will be easily sold!

Not the greatest turning circle in the world but I think it looks great.

I am not fully sold on the top mounts for the rear shocks but it'll great to see this run in anger!

I think a trip to H&S would sort the sound. Great to see it on the move!

No point reading too much into the noise when he hasn't fitted the tailpipes yet.

Guess he is waiting till the bodywork is complete before fabricating the pipes out the back boxes.

Eh? How are the tailpipes going to make any difference post silencer/back box?

Seriously, anything post back box is just a pipe trim?

If it's quiet now, nothing added after the back box is going to remedy that.

Seriously, I suggest you do some investigation...

Where did I say anything about making in louder?

"Go search the internet" is a bit vague. Give me something to back up your point please.

Anything after those silencers will simply be a tail pipe trim and will do absolutely feck all to benefit the sound in volume or tone.

Only by replacing those rear silencers with something less restrictive will you get a good sound out of the engine.

the end-pipe surely make some different.

say like the old days when you put such Italian? exhaust on your motorbike with a very small tube biggrin

also the bore of the endpipe makes different, could be dark/hollow when you make it big bore, or high toned when you make it small bore, so the tone can sound different.

just for fun you take a very big bore PVC (plastic) tube say 25mm bore and about 1 meter long, put that on your cars end tip and listen how it sounds different. biggrin

Yeah but they're replacement back boxes of the standard silencers. If you put something on behind the standard silencers it will do feck all.

Unless he replaces the back boxes in the vids it ain't gonna sound any better.
