Don't forget you can get non-harness probax seats shaped like the regular S2 seats - it's the name of the material rather than a specific seat, isn't it? Have seen plenty of those go for the £600 mark - it only seems to be the ones with harness holes in massive demand that go for a grand+.
Very true, I got mine as I wanted harnesses without the compromise of running them over the side of the seat or having to cut my own harness holes and fit grommets.

Still quite rare to see the standard ones for sale though, and they go quickly.

It could of course just be a question of getting used to it.

8.
I suppose it depends how long you have had it.

I think you should try to live with it for a while. I have done a few long trips and not stepped out with a numb bum.

Definitely. The seats bruised my lower back and it ached for a few days after picking the car up, but I soon got used to them - I find the lumbar support helps.

I find the seats hold you rather that cushion you. But then I used to race karts with solid plastic seats so those in the Elise are fine. To be honest its not a comfortable car but you forgive it that for the rewards it can give. A little cliché but my BMW has more power but less involvement.
