Just helping mate change his rear pads - easy job so I thought
Hes got some new mintex rear pads but they have little springs one end
The old pads had none. Which end do the springs go?
Top or bottom of the caliper

On mine they're on the trailing (top) edge of the pad. No idea if that's right though, since I fitted them. They've been on there for 4 years and still seem to work, so presumably either it's right or it doesn't matter. smile

That's what we worked out too Kambites
The calipers are at the back of the disc & the wheels usually rotate upwards through the calipers.
If the springs are at the top they hold the pads upwards in the caliper.

The disc screws were a pain. You only have to turn an allen key in them and the hex hole goes round, so drilled the heads off and left the screws as studs. There must be a better way of locating discs

I don't remember having that problem when I've done them in the past, although I have repeatedly rounded off the bolts that hold on the clams in the same way. banghead
