Does anybody know this car? I'm currently looking for a post-06 111R (ideally magnetic blue) but came across this and quite like it. My only concern is that it seems to have had an awful lot of work done to it...

My plan is to be in and out in a year (estimating that I'll be in a position to buy a flat in 12 months) so I'm not sure the high mileage is a good choice for me because it'll make it more difficult to sell. No other high milers seem to have had this much work though - either meaning it's gone wrong a lot, or it's been extremely well cared for?

Looks great to me. OK its got a few miles on the clock but all the work at B+C must be a good sign. Try your luck at around £16800-17200 mark. Dont think you'll regret it. Just don't put 30000 miles on it afterwards.

Its had all the right upgrades and seems very well looked after.
The mileage wouldn't put me off due to the extensive history(but you could use it to bargain with).
I have a mate with 80k on his 111R and have seen plenty of 60/70k Exiges, as long as you don't plan to put 20k a year on it you'll be fine selling it on afterwards.
Go for it wink

Hmm, no mention of any suspension work; it will probably be due some soon at that mileage. I'm not sure I like the idea of polyurethane engine mount bushes either?

If I was buying a 70k mile (roughly what you'll be selling it on?) Elise, I'd expect it to either have had a suspension rebuild or I'd want it to be enough cheaper than other cars to pay for one.

This. If it's been his daily driver then it's easy to see how it could get to that mileage given how old it is. Looks like the only thing that hasn't been refreshed is the suspension and that's not massively expensive to do if you just go for OEM.

Hope you dont mind me posting here but similar to what im looking at.
Thinking of gettin back I to a lotus ideally fancy an elise sc but the two in my budget have been sold. Now looking at either an exige s with 60k miles for £21k or an elise r with similar meage for £19k. Not sure if the exige is a bargain or not but certainly makes the elise appear expensive.
Do these prices look fair?

Looks nice but in reality only very low mileage pristine R's go for around 18k no matter what the 20k asking prices might suggest.

I would tread carefully as your 62k (which is high in the Lotus world) will be over 70 when you sell. Good luck trying to sell one with 70 odd k on the clock.

Have you considered the S? Much better value for money and in all honesty (can of worms time) a better car to drive particularly on the road.

^^^ this, if the price was £14k then that would be a decent buy, it looks great, I love the solid BRG paint but I think the price starts too high at that mileage for you to work on any negotiation to get it for around 14/15k.
