Hi,

Going from a Westfield Duratec to Exige. The car above has been for sale at Killermont Motor Co for ages. Does anyone know it? Any reason to steer clear? Is it priced right?

Any advice appreciated.

Thanks

Michael

It depends what you want. Those strange stickers do it no favours and the mileage is high.

Maybe post on Scottish Eliises (www.scottishelises.com) to see if anyone knows it?

Often frequent SE but not too sure whether it was owned in Scotland as I do not recognise it.

Also if you are looking for an Exige then speak to Brandon @ MMC (Murrays) as he I will know if anything coming up which may suit.

The stickers look fine by me. The mileage is fair for a 2006 car. Nevertheless, it will give room for negotiation. Afterwards its down to history and condition. Go and see it. If it hits the spot, why not. If theres a doubt, drop out.

2006 car with 2010 spoiler but looks like the mount points on the engine cover for the original spoiler are still there and not covered/replaced which I think looks a bit half baked.

Check inside the boot make sure its dry as if the new spoiler isnt properly sealed it will leak.

Good mileage for an 8 year old but a bit pricey, more like a £17/18k Exige.
You've really got to drive it, do yourself a favour before you do and drive an SC Elise!

If it was a 192 bhp be inclined to agree. It's not. Got to be around the £20/21K mark. As stated, take it for a drive. Try an SC Elise aswell to be sure.

Beauty clearly in the eye of the beholder. This one looks bloody awful to me and likely a key contributor to why its sat idle for so long. Orange mirrors? coloured stripes and orange mirrors? puuuulease....

My old 111s at 10 had 25k miles. That's good mileage. This is not good mileage for a lotus.

That's very low miles, you did 2.5k miles a year, that's little use.

8 years at 6000 miles a year is still below average. It's a 2006.

2-3k miles a year can be typical for good, used Elise.

I certainly would not want a 50k Exige. You can expect to struggle when you put 10 more on it and come to sell.

I agree with you there but if the right price of £17/18k was paid, why worry.
There will always be buyers for it, even when it's at 100,000 miles.

If my budget was £18k and I wanted an Exige, it wouldn't put me off if the rest of the boxes were ticked, but that's me.

I completely agree with you. Everything has its price. 18k and I'd strip this car back to basics, take all the tat off it and thrash around for a year or two, to hell with the resell as 18k would allow you to sell a few less if needed.

Thats a 19k car. Exiges are hyper sensitive to mileage they are very hard to sell with even over 35k on the clock let alone 56.

Crazily, rabidly overpriced.

Totally agree. I'm a perfect example of that. Won't consider a car over 25k miles.

Despite buying a low mileage myself, I reckon high mileage should be no issues on these cars. They are all mostly over serviced, and I can't see why the engine won't go way above 100k if serviced and treated properly. Things will wear out, but always an excuse to replace with upgraded.
If the money is not excessive, why be afraid!

Thanks for the feedback. My Westfield Duratec (on here) sale has fallen through, so fingers crossed, it goes soon.
The stripes can come off the car, and I'm not too worried about mileage. Previously I've chosen higher mileage with all work done, rather than low mileage with the replacement parts process still to come.
There's a 82000 mile one on here that looks really tidy having had full rebuild etc.

Is that the purple one at neils? I saw the red one there and it was horrid, that had seen some pressure in its life. The steering wheel was shiny and should have been alcantara.

Did you look at it?
