Hi chaps, not posted on here for a long time, and my, the search option is crap now smile can't even make it forum specific, so I'm sure my question has been covered before smile

So, please humour me: I have a 1999 Elise and I wish to change the diff oil tomorrow, which should I use? I have searched and searched but there doesn't seem to be any info on the subject!

Many thanks smile

Tom

Assuming it's the standard Rover PG1 gearbox, the correct oil is MG Rover MTF94. Buy it from a Xpart supplier eg Rimmer Bros or some motor factors sell it.

Thanks for the info smile is there a generic equivalent that I could buy from hellfrauds for example 75/90 or similar? smile

I have a burning desire to change all the fluids before my upcomg annual 'ring trip smile

No, best to use the MGR fluid as it's specific to the box. I understand 10w40 engine oil can be used in the earlier boxes but I'm unsure about the one in the Elise.
