struggling with reverse collar when cold.

Good morning, my Europa struggles with selecting reverse first thing in the morning if left out. Only recently started happening so suspect due to the cold/damp mornings we have had. It seems like an issue with the collar on the lever as when lifted it stays up but cannot move out of line of first as though it has not been lifted, after playing with it for a bit I can the get reverse.

This has not happened so far at any other time in the day and as soon as I get reverse I can take it out and get it again straight away. I suspect it just needs a little tinker and wondered if anyone could advise on what part as not the most technically minded.
