The site doesn't seem to mention them being LTS, although I guess they're the only version of the AD07 still being made?

Very good price if they are. smile

I've just looked back at my order and that doesn't mention LTS - but my tyres do have LTS written on their sidewall. If you are thinking of buying some you could always give them a call and check that they are LTS ones.

i used pneus-online 12 months ago for a full set. 1 pair came from Germany and the other from France. At no point did the order state LTS, but all 4 were delivered as LTS. I wonder what % of AD07s manufactured are non LTS anyway?

Since the main AD07 range has been replaced by the AD08 and then later the AD08R, I suppose the LTS is the only version still in production.

I've just had this reply as I'm looking at some fronts;

Dear Mr. Webster,

Thank you for your message regarding the Yokohama tyres.

We would like to confirm that the tyres in the sizes you have mentioned are the Lotus approved models.

We remain at your disposal for further questions and assistance.

Kind regards,

A bit of a thread revival, but valuable information that Pneus Online are currently shipping AD07's that are not LTS stamped.
Pneus Online seem to be under the impression that Yokohama have stopped making LTS tyres, which has been officially denied after i spoke with Yokohama UK.

So having now spoken to Lotus and Yokohama they've confirmed that the compound of the AD07 has had to change due to the revised EU legislation preventing a tyre with G-rating for fuel consumption being fitted as OEM to a new car.

Does that mean that there are no more LTS stamped AD07s, or that LTS stamped AD07s are now the same compound as non-LTS stamped?

Can't help but think that Lotus are eventually going to stop fitting such a peculiar size of tyre to new Elises, and suitable front tyres for older cars will become like hen's teeth. Glad my wheels take a more common fitting and allow me to buy a more modern tyre.

Yokohama are still producing AD07 LTS tyres and you can still buy AD07 LTS tyres through the standard Lotus Dealer network, albeit at regular inflated prices.
Lotus cannot fit AD07 LTS tyres to their new cars due to ECE regulations prohibiting 'G' rated efficiency tyres.

Pneus Online are currently selling AD07's in a new compound that is NOT the same as the old AD07 and not marked as an LTS tyre.

Is it the same compound as the AD08R?

Isn't the LTS designation down to a more flexible sidewall due to the low kerbweight of the car as opposed to compound changes? So non-LTS ones will give a less-compliant and edgier ride?

Are they still available for the S1 111S?

I could be wrong but I was under the impression that the front LTS tyre was a softer tread compound than the rear.

I was also under the impression that Yokohama stopped making non-LTS AD07s when the AD08 was introduced. If that's true, it seems odd to drop the "LTS" branding from the sidewall if it's the only car they're making the tyres for anyway?

I think the AD07 is made for performance cars generally, but with the car being so light, it had to perform differently to be optimum for the Elise, so they did an LTS version. So if they have stopped making it in LTS guise, you will be buying a tyre suitable for a BMW etc etc.

I am not sure how much difference it makes but I have always sworn by them or the AD08 on the basis they were made for the car (and are good). My dad took it somewhere when a tyre had an issue and they fitted some dreadful rear tyres - Inifinity or something they were called. They had a load rating of something ridiculous and it always felt like the rear of the car wanted to overtake the front. I thought there was something wrong with it and took it to my specialist and he drove about a mile in it and agreed it was dreadful, fitted some LTS tyres, took it out again and it was fine. I called the MD of the tyre company and asked what his fitters thought they were doing and he sorted me out with some proper tyres at cost price and took the old killer ones away. So be warned, worth getting the tyres right!

It was but I thought the AD08 (now itself replaced by the AD08R) was a direct replacement; the only reason they carried on making the AD07 LTS is that the AD08 isn't available in the correct size for the front of the Elise.

Certainly Yokohama's website doesn't list the AD07 and hasn't for several years.

sounds a bit odd that they would do a direct replacement for a tyre for the elise but not make it in the elise sizes?! Or am I misreading what you say?

Either way, make sure you are buying a tyre recommended for the Elise, don't just go off the size.

The AD08R is available in a wide range of sizes for lots of cars. Just not in the fairly peculiar size used for S2 Elise fronts. I suspect that the AD07 would not have been made in that size either had it not been OEM equipment for the Elise.

A lot of people run mixed i.e. AD07s on the Front, AD08's on the rear. Seems to work perfectly OK, its my current setup.

Would be interested in hearing from others what pressures they run, when they have this setup. I have the Lotus recommended ones in mine but think the rears are wearing slightly in the middle, so guessing over pressured

Indeed. The AD07 was only made in such a weird size because Lotus paid Yokohama to make it. The AD08 was a direct replacement for the mainstream (non-LTS) versions of the AD07.

Hi All,

sorry I know this has probably been out there for like ages !
Currently have a set of Team Dynamics 1.2's on my S2, but with Pirelli Winter tyres (I know mental or what!).
Can anyone advise / confirm that I can fit, AD08R's all round, Sizes I can get from Pneu's are 225/45 R17 91 W for the rears and 205/45 R16 83 W for the fronts.

Does that sound about right ?

I think those wheels are 7 inches at the front and 8 inches at the rear. The Lotus OEM forged alloys are the same widths, and they take 205/45/16 and 225/45/17.

I have the Exige Y-type alloys on mine, which are 6.5 inch / 7.5 inch, and I have the same sizes and load ratings you specify - so as above and 83/91.
