How come everyone goes for Yoko Advans? I bought my Exige with R888 and they've been amazing. Just looking for the new version as we speak.

They're a bit more road biased, so they last longer and deal with standing water much better. Somewhere between a high performance road tyre and a trackday tyre.

R888 are certainly deadly in the rain, at any speed.

yes The AD07/AD08 is surprisingly good on standing water and wears nowhere near as quickly as most dedicated track-day type rubber like R888s so it's a good compromise for road use. Appalling in the snow, though.
