Lot's of good stuff but to add my own experience S2 111S followed by a year in an S2 Exige S (6k miles driving 5 days a week):
- Absolutely zero rear visibility if you go supercharged.
- Harnesses are great for the track but an absolute nightmare to drive in. I had no regular 3-point belt and so I couldn't really look left or right. Just use the force - like reversing.
- Demisting took about 5 mins with both windows open and airon on full. I tended to avoid breathing - that helped.
- Forget AO48s in the wet unless you have many extra pairs of boxer shorts you need to ruin.
- No one sees you. You are too low.
- It was the most fun I had in a car ever. I miss it every day.

I currently run an S1 as my daily. I use a shower cover to help the crap roof from leaking. In colder weather I find that if I pour WARM water over the screen and generally don't drive like i have two heads (2 hats) there are no worries. Compared to my old Caterham or the Striker it is a world of civilisation. Clearly it is not as practical as a bland eurobox but when you are an old git at least you'll look back smile.

Give it a go. I mean, what is it going to cost you?

I left my S1 Elise outside one night and in the morning I had ice behind the speedo binnacle, and bubbles in the paintwork on the doors where they had got damp and froze. It's obviously possibly to use an Elise or Exige as a daily through the winter, the question is, why would any sane person want to?

When the sun is shining and you're in the right mood there's no better car to drive, but when it's cold and raining there are few worse imo.

It's fine using it daily in the winter if you have a garage - I have no problems with mine misting or freezing up. smile

Bit of an arse if you don't, though.

Because it is too cold to run a doorless and heater-less,aeroscreened bike engined 7.

Obviously biggrin.
