Lotus Convertible Advice

I've been putting a huge amount of miles on my s2 elise the past year. The boot is surprisingly generous, especially when you use soft luggage bags. I built a luggage rack for 20 quid which gave me the option of top down motoring while 2 up for a ten day road trip.
My only concerns are poor road surfaces. You feel everything, and some of the roads around eastern Europe are incredibly awful. At times we were down to 20 mph over 20 mile stretches. On decent roads the car is very comfortable. Never had any back pains or wishes to be driving something else.
Elises are perfectly fine for long motorway trips, as has been said though, they are noisy.
