Well am away with two weeks of sun, and spend days thinking of you guessed it.......that little red bl**dy car, and how it's going to sound with new exhaust set up when I get home!!! These things should come with a health warning attached, more addictive than nicotine!!!! laugh Anyway while I drink many beers Jim Valentine busy knocking up exhaust.......will update as soon as fitted!!! In mean time, have pictured what my car would look like beside me at pool.... Going to check Thompsons weight limit next year!!!

XAh Jesus I have gone and done it now!!!!! Went along to the Club Lotus day at Castle Combe on Saturday with every intention being just to watch......unfortunately as I wandered around the paddock in absolute awe of how many people had turned up, my little Lotus went and signed us up!!!! Next thing I knew a man was waving us a green flag and we were off!!! If I loved my 111r before Castle Combe after, I was quite simply blown away. Phenomenal....awe inspiring...magnificent....every corner, every straight, I was screaming out loud, whooping like a kid at Christmas and laughing. I am in absolute awe. Brilliant people, a beautiful marque and may long it continue. Well done Club Lotus (I shall be signing up) ....now just need more noise.........

Well done! If you're wanting more then Lotus on Track are back at Combe in the middle of June (16th), there's still a couple of places left on their website. Track will be a bit quieter than it looks like it was on your last one!

Well all, I finally had the exhaust fitted and I have to say it is absolutely epic!!!!

Now to be blunt, poor Jim Valentine at 2bular is a man very much in demand and if you are expecting a speedy delivery, you may be a little disappointed BUT....if you can wait you will be supplied an item which is an absolute work of art.

The noise is just perfect, not too much base’ when ticking over low revs….but as the rev’s build, my god does it come alive….the kickover point at 6,200rpm is now accompanied by a distinct race car note change which is a joy. Also feels bizarrely quick which is an unexpected surprise. Theres also a nice little pop and crackle on the overrun. All in all its made the car superb and gives the little Lotus the voice that its looks and handling deserve.

I cannot recommend highly enough!!!! Good work Jim and 2Bular.

That doesn't seem to bad TBH, I thought you were going to say 5 or 6 months.

I've just sorted this thread and read through it fairly quickly and I have to say I agree completely about how good the 111R is.

I had an S1 and sold it when I bought an R-34 Skyline immediately I missed the Elise and swore I'd have one again.

After the Skyline I bought a Cerbera (still have it) and I have to admit that I thought when I got it that I couldn't find something that would be more enjoyable for the money, all that power for a fraction of the price of something like a Ferrari, but then the reality of the unreliability of the TVR soon made me cop on to myself and off I went in search of another Elise.

I picked up a low-mileage 111R for relatively small money off a victim of the Irish recession and then the fun began all over again.

There is no comparison between the S1 and the 111R and that is in every respect of the car.

I've since added a GP Mini to the fleet and it is up there close to the 111R in terms of fun .... but not quiet.

I test drove a Mini GP (2006 model) before buying my 111r. It was great fun, but I'm so glad I ended up with my Lotus!
I have just posted my ECU off today to have the cam change lowered to 5700rpm. I hope I like it that way!

I got my ECU back last week for the cam change to 5700rpm. Great service from Wayne at Essex Autosport.
I am really impressed with the outcome and how it now changes cam. Before, it was a real on/off switch, but now the change is much smoother.
Highly recommend it.

I went with the 6”dia Twin-Tip System - Its a slashed look at the back end which I really like. In way of update sound and performance just keeps getting better. Have never enjoyed a car so much and with its Tom Jones vocals its got me absolutely hooked. WELL BL*ODY DONE LOTUS & JIM VALENTINE!!!!!biggrin
