I currently have insurance thro CCI on my 2003 std elise S2, and this years premium has arrived, at £352. Doing a quick check on the compare sites, I have had two quotes at around £160, from Quote me happy and General Accident. The terms/conditions for both these more or less match the CCI quote, apart from the track day aspect in the latter, which is not relevant for me. Always just renewed with CCI because I knew they were a specialist in sports cars, and also used to insure my lads on the elise for no extra cost, this cover was was removed when they became part of Aviva, so it's just me on the insurance.

Anyone, any thoughts on the two more mainstream insurers for covering my elise ? Any other companies recommended ?

I'm 59 years old with clean licence, all quotes include the exhaust/filter mods.

Thanks

Since 2005 I've always done the comparison sites, I'm 49 with 13 years NCB, clean licence £174 today Fully Comp.
I did it two months ago (I thought it was due) and it was £146 then.

I should try specialists again but in the past they have a bit pricey for 3000 miles a year and always garaged as second car.

I've tagged my Exige onto the wife's M3 insurance with Aviva.

Can't see a problem using the mainstream, but you only find out how good they are when you need to use them!

Lots of options are banded about on SELOC: Henderson Taylor (my insurer), REIS and 1answer are a few of the more common ones...

I am with Adrian Flux at the moment with a 3000 mile a year policy, 1 Answer also gave me a very competitive quote. I stayed with flux as they have been easy to deal with for the last 15 years or so on various cars for me.

CCI were brilliant for me for years and then something changed where they weren't. I just use the comparison sites now, Evora currently with ESure.

Cci where bought up by a larger company about three/four years ago. Kept premiums the same but wouldnt go over a 6000 mileage limit and i believe there were changes to their track day cover ( never paid much attention as neve taken any of mine on a track).

They seemed to run as the small team but every time i needed them it sempt like their hands were toed which i why i moved.

The only reason I use cci is for the track day cover, when and if I get too old to track the exige id just insure with the cheapest mainstream insurer, fill your boots!!!

Thanks guys, going to give the mainstreams a shout this week to run through the detailS, and if OK will go with them. Just to say that I've got an 8k mileage limit on my policy with CCI at the moment, someone mentioned earlier that they thought it might be 6k.
