That's awesome - shame it hasn't got any bodywork though and it would be better with 2 seats - how would you share the performance with anyone?

Does it maintain the standard wheelbase and bodywork? I'd love a GT86 powered Elise with a supercharger. smile

It appears to keep the same suspension pickup points... But that oil tank, gearbox hangin off the rear and charge cooler on the subframe make no sense...
It's nice to see guys trying new things but at least make it better and move the weight forward of the rear axle..

I think the reduction in height of CoG will probably have more effect than the small movement forward. I like the F/R distribution of the Elise but it does feel rather... top heavy.

When you chumps can do better I'll start listening but you can't can you ? biggrin

A 290 whp Exige can smoke a GT3 on track so Porsche is still off the mark and a 991 turbo S will smoke a GT3 RS but this is a Lotus thread cool

I highly doubt you could tell the difference with the height of the engine if your wheel track is correct but you can tell the difference by moving as much weight as you can forward of the rear axle...
There is very little weight on the front axle so moving as much up front makes things that much better... The Exige and 211 are very different in feel due to the much lighter front end of the 211.

Nice find! Not sure where you would want them to mount a chargecooler. After all the engine will be taking up all the room forward of the axel. You could mount it high above the engine but then you a) need Exige body work and b) are moving weight high up in the chassis. The stock intake manifold isn't exactly compact!

I think the great thing about this conversion would be the availability of spare and performance parts. Let's face it there are quite a few scoobys about these days and a massive market supporting them.

When I look at the engine packaging I see a mess to work around and no real advantage but at least they are trying something which is more than most.
I'll stick with my Toyota 2ZZ layout and ease of maintenance...

mmm 5-cill audi?

great sound and great potentials I guess.

the Donkervoort GTO also uses a audi 5-cill with lots of horsepower.

Should be able to make a relatively easy 500bhp and not be stressed / lag bad.

Also its like half a twin turbo lambo. smile
