Back in May my UK/Aussie buddy aka Irish stopped by for a visit so of course we went for a little canyon cruise...
Since Irish is a Lotus owner for many years and not some fat, chump internet wannabe auto journalist I thought it was cool to get his reactions on the side of the road. I'm glad I kept the camera on..

I'm not selling or promoting anything this was just two PistonHeads shootin the breeze on the roadside, ya should have heard us after a few over dinner..beer

Have a watch and listen or not but I thought it was entertaining ...;)

Errrr - something of a slightly mad point and squirt exercise? Somewhat understandable given the BHP. I'm not entirely sure I'd want to be coming the other way when it all goes splendidly tits up. Each to their own but track speed is a more mature (and indeed convincing) demonstration of testicular circumference. Pip Pip

I'm glad you weren't coming the other way in your Porsche crossing the centerline as most Porsche drivers do.

Point and squirt, did you even listen to the review....pip pip

The first video is the best I've seen that actually goes some way to show the car's speed.
Irish knows his stuff so if he was impressed then that's good enough for me!
Still don't understand why people constantly post negative comments about this car(or driver), both should be applauded for pushing the boundaries.
Nice work fellas.

Thanks dude, there will always be haters talking crap about the car because they do nothing.
I've had Lotus owners from all over the globe come by to see and if weather permitting take a little canyon cruise with me and everyone has had the same positive response .
It was nice to have Irish come over and experience the Rs211 first hand.
I really enjoy showing guys what can be done with an open mind and hopefully more guys will take the Lotus to even greater heights in performance....

Cheers

Frank, the point is that your car is cr*p, you clearly cannot drive and the canyons look dull.

Look fella, I'll do you a favour and take the car off you for $5000 and I'm really doing you a favour at that price, honest.

Dude that is so much money for this home brew stbox it would pain me to take your money so I'll have to pass.... I couldn't take advantage of you, I'll just suffer with it and try my best to learn how to be a better canyon driver even though I'm too old to learn new tricks...

I've said it before, but the only thing that stops me telling Ronin that his car is amazing is Ronin telling me his car is amazing. He's a polarising character. I suspect he knows that and doesn't care.

I think that even with the negativity these threads are better than the sycophantic cringe fest that is the Flemke thread, where everyone loves a man who bought a car, rather than built it.
