Lotus Elise 220 Cup

Hi guys.
I am looking at getting an Elise 220 Cup, there are a couple available that I am interested in.
Just a couple of questions for you all:
- I am putting in a 25% deposit and financing the rest, I know depreciation wise Lotus are pretty good but do you think this would be a relatively safe bet in terms of getting some money back in 2/3 years?
- This would be my daily driver, I don't do a great deal of miles maybe 8,000 a year, do you think you can live with a car of this ilk day to day? I know a lot of you do but any thoughts would be appreciated.

Had a lotus for the past eight years and used as daily driver first an elise then a europa. They are reasonably easy to use as a daily car but with the europa and therefore i suspect the exige you will need to ensure it is parked in a manner that either no one can park to the side of you or that you are sure the spot is big enough should they, as you will need the door fully open to get back in. The elise is a different animal as you could if needed half open door and then roll the roof back.
The only other issue is that they stop feeling special, until that is something happens to remind you just how lucky you are. Normally this is that stretch of road that for just this once is clear, or a kid on a bike peddling like mad to get you at the lights to shout nice car mister.
Depending on the driving you will be doing daily it may be worth getting a cheap beater for the week commute as i was doing a four mile journey in 30mph roads which is ultimately why the europa was moved on past week.
Either way you shouldnt lose much when you come to sell and unless something catastrophic goes wrong they are ridiculously cheap to run.

Agreed it's not a Lotus. Fancy German car with lots of trimmings. Fully understand why you're missing the LotusNot like im slumming it in a Z4 but still its no Lotus is it!

I think either a 220 or an sc if i go older would be the way forwards. I've had a 1.8 s (134) for 50,000 miles (only 3 years) a 1.6 s which lasted about four months and a europa s which if id of had a choice i would still have. Really liked the 1.8 and the europa as so much low down torque vs the 1.6 which you needed to rev the nuts off which isnt my style.

Talking 220S. Either in CR version or standard. I think either a 220 or an sc if i go older would be the way forwards.
