Elise Air con ? Which Model ?

HI All, New here I have been looking an Elsie S2 now for a little while, it will live outside and will mainly be used in the winter, have other cars for the summer.

With this in mind ( mainly for demisting purpose) I have been looking for ones with Air con.

I am however a little confused !! ( not hard !!)

Was there a specific model / package that meant a car had Air Con ? I thought the touring pack included air con but then have seen several adverts for touring spec cars with no mention of Air con ?

I am of the assumption that the Air con wont be as good as modern systems ( much like my old TVR system) but it would be really helpful for me.

Any advice would be gratefully received

The VVC engined 111S has aircon as standard. I'n not sure about any other model.

Few have it as standard - even on current cars it is just a stand-alone option (not part of a pack).

Be aware though that particularly earlier systems (up to something like 2006 perhaps, I don't recall when they changed the design) had aluminium pipes coated in rubber which would 'sweat' and corrode, letting the gas out and leaving you with an expensive fix to rip all the pipes out the sills and replace them with the later style flexible pipes.

Basically if a car has A/C fitted and you view it as an essential then make sure you check that it works, and if it pre-dates the change in design, that it has had the pipes replaced with the later design.

Not all 111s have air con.

Mine hasn't.

As far as I know, air-con has never been standard on any Elise. It was one of few stand-alone optional extras.
