This may be of interest to some.

https://www.eliseparts.com/products/show/96/480/yo...

Full set of AD07's for £300 plus VAT.

My tyres aren't that worn but are old, so I reckon a track day this summer to properly trash them and then new boots.

(Edit; no link to the vendor, but have used them before for bits of suspension)

If they're really "LTS marked", doesn't that mean they're ancient? I thought Yokohama stopped putting the LTS mark on AD07s a couple of years ago?

ETA: I've been told by various people that all AD07s produced now are "Lotus OEM" even though they're not marked LTS; that the AD07 is only produced for Lotus now as the mainstream tyre has been completely replaced by the AD08R.

According to the vendor, last batch.
They'll be significantly more recent than my current bridgestones

"Last batch" doesn't mean they weren't made 18 months ago. smile

For what it's worth, http://www.tyres-pneus-online.co.uk/ claim their AD07s are Lotus OEM despite not being LTS marked. They're about the same price.

Edited to make it make sense.

Agreed completely. I'd be concerned with how they were stored too.

You could ask them for the DOT code. smile

So almost two years old. That about fits in with when I was told they stopped making LTS marked ones.

Not to fit on an OEM S2 Elise front rim you can't. 205s on the standard offset 5.5 inch front rim foul the inner wheel arch at full lock. A 5.5 inch rim is also outside their type-approval range.

Ahhh ok, sorry. You can for the s1. And they're great smile

You can fit wider rims to an S2 and use them, but that obviously significantly increases the cost.

I only just realised the s2 has 16f and 17r wheels, I had assumed they were the same as the s1.

The big problem is that the S2 front wheels are so narrow. There are very few performance tyres of low enough profile designed to fit such a narrow rim.

A respectable set of wheels with 6.5 inch fronts isn't hugely expensive but it's a damned slight more expensive than just buying a set of AD07s.

Yeah it was the same problem with the vx220, tyre choice was a nightmare when they first came out, might be better now?

From what I've seen, most VX220s these days are running 16/17 inch wheels like the VXR (and indeed the Lotus variants). I've no idea why, but it massively improves the handling compared to the OEM 17/17 wheels.

Well maybe not "most" but a huge proportion.

Are they stamped LTS2 on the sidewall as well, or just on the sticker?
