Bit shameful to come on here and ask this but I thought that being pelted with tomatoes is worth the price!

I have an MX5 NC and the heated seats are both brilliant and both terrible. They are good in that they do warm you up wonderfully, good for us non tough Lotus people, but then on the otherhand they do weigh as much as your mother in law and also have crap side support

I am desperate to get rid of them for something far more anorexic, the problem being I need the replacement to be heated to appease guess who? yes she is named after me for the last 24 years, bless her cold soul.

So I turn to the lotus forum for advice on adding lightness, seat wise, of course.

Any thoughts? I'm guessing this could be expensive. smile

You can buy heating elements which you can fit to the OEM Elise seats. They weigh no more than a couple of kg. I've never experienced them but a few people on SELOC have them fitted and seem happy with them.

How about getting some of those carbon net elements (I saw some on ebay a while back) and having those fitted in your existing Lotus seats? It worked for me in my TVR (to replace the existing heater elements I hasten to add!)

£10 version you just place in seat when needed. Use one in my XBOW and does the job.
