Lotus Exige 350 CUP 2014
Discussion
I have also been looking at this car. A few things that ponder a question. The tyres are original 9 year old tyres. Tread depth 4mm apparently. They need replaced end off. The fire extinguisher needs serviced / replaced also as it’s nine year old. It’s a safety device. My work legally has to have fire extinguishers every X amount of years so I would personally get that serviced / replaced. Very light corrosion on the underside suspension components but that’s to be expected. I’d recondition those. (I have OCD and would enjoy doing that probably at great expense. ) I also (could be wrong) it needs serviced / MoT’d. and as mentioned it’s expensive. But the colour is lovely. OP fingers crossed you sell your jag but the above points need to be sorted. For me anyway.

That is a lovely car and must be sorely tempting to bite the bullet, the mileage and colour stand it out, I think they really suit a bright colour, as well as the motorsport pedigree.
I just cant help think that it's a bit pricey though, bordering on greedy, especially if they havent even prepped it with new tyres and a service for the top money they're asking. I don't recall seeing a used Cup at that age coming close to that sort of money despite the obvious desirable benefits this car comes with.
I think a 350 Sport 'may' represent better value for money unless you really want a cup car, as well as being newer, added weight savings similar to the Cup, and with the revised gear change which itself is pretty desirable.

Just sold my 410 with the aim of getting a Caterham 620s but I’m struggling with the thought of paying 50k plus for a bit of second hand steel tubing, aluminium and a Ford engine.
I kept the 410 under a really decent outdoor cover in the summer months which didn’t cause any damage to the paint. I made sure the car was spotless before the cover went on and then used it regularly. In the winter I just put it in storage.
The insurance were fine, they said as long as it was under six months in storage they didn’t care.
As for the Cup if the price was closer to 50k I’d be seriously interested.

Completely agree. I have decided to continue my search! This one might be quite local to you. https://www.pistonheads.com/buy/listing/14965931
I was looking at the time hence why I noticed it - it was too far away and a bit too much money for me so I left it alone. H&M meanwhile are only 10mins from home - I am tempted to go and take a look at it one weekend just to gawp.
Though, for me, a Sport 350 is probably the better car and what I ended up with thanks to good old PH!

Same for me. The Cup is a marvellous thing and I adore that colour but the sport 350 just that tiny, tiny bit more refined for all but short weekend blasts. Plus I’d have felt guilty adding miles to it I think! Though, for me, a Sport 350 is probably the better car and what I ended up with thanks to good old PH!
This looks lovely but I completely hear the sentiment of the above posts. If you are going to use it as a 2nd car, road trips and fun blasts with only occasional track days it’s probably too hardcore.
Probably depends on your age too. In my 20s and early 30s I'd tolerate nearly anything for that perfect moment on a deserted road.

It’s slightly cheaper than what it was the last time. The guy used the old H&M photos. It was up at £50k privately. I’d imagine the bought it back for £48k. What I’ve said previously is the tyres are from 2014 so are in desperate need for replacement. And the fire safety system needs serviced. Plus I’d imagine it needs another service. I’d love to buy it but that would need to be addressed before I bought it.
