Skoda Felicia (98 s reg) also has programmable intermittent wipe. I guess it's the same as in the golf as it is basically one. Just a thought- sounds like the stocks of mangled golfs have already been pillaged!

Do VW no longer sell these relays as a spare part. Surely they still have to be able to replace faulty parts

Yes, VW do sell them, but they'll charge you £30, and no guarantees they'll get the right bit, and they won't refund on any electrical parts as a rule!

5 mins in a scrappy is definately the way to go!!!

Fitted the Citroen BX wiper mounted washer bar thisafternoon. - it's fantastic!!!

took about 20 mins to fit, didn't need to drill any holes, and now i can actually get the windscreen clean!

it's a miracle!!!

just a bummer i only got round to doing it at the END of the winter.!

I bought this relay and it doesn't work as described. It varies between 3 to 6 sweeps on the washers and doesn't allow the intermittent to be adjusted. That is abou 9 seconds. May be a duff unit but it should be checked before many more punters waste their money!

Bugger, guess i was the lucky one then. Whilst i'm happy with the way mine works perhaps people shouldn't buy this particular relay.

Sorry if this messed people about, it was not intentional

Hi,

Mine did not work either but heyho these things happen. I have also tried the Hella version avaiable here in Germany. That the same as well. Off to the local scrapyard this weekend to find me a golf

YIPPEEEEEEE!!!!!

Mine works as well!!!

Made my first visit to a German scrap yard. Very impressive. Hundreds of cars all sorted by make and type, stacked 2 high on a large concrete area. No mud, no mess. Nothing like my memories when I was a kid. Mind you out of about 50 golf's I managed to find only one! Lucky me. (plenty of 19's though. Many thanks to whoever highlighted this one does not work)
