I might have to go check out one of the 111s's now. ;->

Weren't you looking at a Tuscan?

Have just spoken to a good friend who sold his for £21K, had trouble with the car culminating in loosing fifth gear requiring a new gearbox and was miffed with the cost of insurance, lives in central London, so went and bought a Cooper S in stead, oh and he's 6' 9'' so an Elise was out of the question!!

The Elise is a different car, the biggest differnce being the handling, I was going to say realibility, then I remebered I broke a valve spring, unusal mind!

As Bonce says below if you get Gearys linkage kit it sorts the change out nicely..I have the short shift too on my S2 ...the std car gearshift feels like a tractor in comparison :-)

Yeah, I'm torn. The Tuscan is more suitable as a daily driver but there's something about the trascendental finesse of an Elise that makes it easy to look past the awkward entrance/exit and the feeling of being four inches tall while driving.

An odd comparison, I realize but for me it is like the angel/devil on my shoulder...

The Elise is the automotive equivalent of Jackie Chan. The Tuscan is like the Terminator.

They're opposites in some ways but they are both extreme examples of their type.

Liquid I have your answer [Someone may have suggested this but i only read the first 3 posts and a few in the middele so-]

TT260 can be achived by paying for a 190 and because this is an upgraded to the Exiges VHPD Engine you can add 260 bhp.

Getting many options ie. Leather A/C is fine just remember to add bigger breaks and get good tires, and
Dont forget your car is carrying a lot of unneccesary weight so get used to it before you try anything.

Achiving your Preferred top speed may be impossibe - but remember notings impossibe so keep upgrading and keep trying.

The extra power will make up for the extra Must haves that are required for everyday driving but it will not make up for it in the corners you may have to tune the suspension to enhance the car.

Lightning is not just me with a new name - Scarily he seems to have exactley the same views

Know what you mean, that lil'devil got me in the end though, or at least the credit card, as I decided it wasn't quite fast enough to really live up to the handling so had to make it faster.

At the end of the day its down to personal choice and to make of it what you will, which ever car you go for. They're both great cars and either will put a huge grin on your face and give you the rush that we all love, or otherwise we just wouldn't buy the damn things in the first place.

Anyway gotta go, need to pack to catch a plane out of this god foresaken island and go and find some sun, would love to take the car with me, now where was that rather large suit case.....
