Questions about my new Elise

Ive just bought a fantastic Type 25 elise mk2. On first impressions it seems like a great car with one exception:
The exhaust note, it definatly needs a sports exhaust.
Plus I was also thinking about a ITG airbox. Has anyone got any experience of fitting these and will they make a great difference. Will this invalidate my Lotus Warantee?

I havent had much of a chance to drive it yet due to me being a fair weather boy who cringes at the thought of all that salt on my lovely new aluminium! But another problem seems to be the battery has already gone flat after 3 weeks of sitting in the garage. Is this normal due to the immobiliser? I was thinking of fitting a racing style battery master cut off switch in the boot?

get a sports exhaust, i have one + ITG - no difference to warranty etc sounds great

solution to battery prob - well dont be a GJOB - get out and drive it ! ...jeez 3 weeks ...Im luck if I can last 3 days without driving it ;-)

alternatively get a trickle charger !

also do a search for the type 25 register on the elise board at www.british-cars.co.uk to meet up with your T25 buddies :-)

The battery on my S2 will go flat if not used for a couple of weeks. My car is a third 'fun car' and the battery is fine even when just used weekends.

I now have a set of jump leads and a trickle charger in my garage.

My battery lasts about 3 weeks, but depends on whether its full charged etc. You can not bother turning the alarm on (if its the alarm I have that is, they changed so maybe isn't). My one turns the immobiliser on, but not the microwave stuff (which uses much battery power).

Or just unplug the negative terminal on the battery (making sure its securely away from slipping back onto a terminal...). It'll last forever like that.

Or yes you could even put your switch in, but it may interfere with the alarm.
