Oil whiff

Smell of burning oil with window partially down. Little puff of smoke from engine lid grill under heavy breaking.

Any ideas anybody?

Hmmm, sounds to me like you have a small oil leak that drips onto the manifold when you brake. Have a nose around your engine bay, see if you can spot any oil anywhere around the engine. If possible, whip your undertray off and see if they're oily, or if any components are dripping at the bottom.

Get it fixed before your car catches fire!

Cheers Bonce. Just been told it maybe a few loose bolts on the cam cover - quite a common problem apparently and seems to make sense with the breaking occurance.
