clamshell repair/replacement

Gents,

Can anyone advise me how much it's going to cost to replace/repair an Elise S2 front clam with several large (fist sized) cracks/holes?

I'm assuming it's going to be a complete new clam plus painting.

It would cost about £1200 total, if the clamshell was repairable. That one isn't though.

Otherwise I think you will be looking at a bill of £2000. The new clamshell is about £900, but that comes unpainted, less VAT etc. Any dealer or specialist will quote you this cost - plus about 30 hours labour, plus paint.

Sometimes these things can be patched. Depends where you are based as to who to recommend.
