Any news/updates on this option? I believe it was being developed by an ex-Lotus engineer, after the factory dropped the idea.

Aside from some shiny door handles, what's supposed to be on that site?

Well its Tigga's site and I've seen the roof at the workshop I use for my car. The Site is obviously being "upgraded" right now...

I think Tigga canned it all after elisehardtops came onto the scene as he couldn't compete with a moulding company on price.

It was also causing him much pain to organise.

I don't think there'll ever be a gullwing hard top for the S2.

Contrary to popular belief, Lotus did spend time on the project and concluded that it would be nigh-on impossible to make a safe, reliable, waterproof product that wouldn't end up causing loads of complaints and warranty repairs.

Tigga spent loads of time and money on the project and just got a ton of grief from suppliers, customer and even Lotus.

Yep, Tigga's avatar and mood on the SELOC forums as of this morning indicate that it's going into production and will be on sale shortly!

Hurrah for Tigga, it looks great!

Now pass me my hat, I'm hungry.

A hammer, a bit of sticky backed plastic and a tube of super glue and I could make it fit the S1 - Tigga howabout it!!!

Looks fantastic and is well priced given the cost of a full hard roof.

Dunno how he got his car to look like that. I've seen it in the flesh, and the paint was as you'd expect on a black car with a lot of miles.

Looked very good when I saw it the other week. Perhaps a proper clean and polish?

Any idea of the weight of the T-bar as compared to the factory hardtop? Also, what's Lotus' current price for the factory hardtop?

Hes got an ad in Evo too, so that would justify some decent polishing

The lotus version has two prices depending on whether you have the old style long roof or the newer one. The newer one is 1600 quid or so I think, with the long one 1850 or so. Obviously without the lift out panels etc.

Doesn't he post on here then?
That I-Bar hardtop looks great on his car, shame he isn't about to fill us in on how he got the car so clean.

I'll be grossly disappointed if it doesn't have a little red button labelled 'Turbo Boost'.
