This question always amazes me. My boss drives and Audi A6 which probably cost him over 20k and he drives it everywhere. He's amazed that I drive my lotus everyday despite the fact that it cost about half what his Audi cost and is almost certainly cheaper in parts, fuel, tyres etc etc.

I haven't got one yet, but when I do I shall use it everyday, regardless of the weather/season.

I have a friend at work who uses his S2 Exige daily without any issues so thats convincing enough for me.

Personally I prefer not to use mine every day. I find my little Clio is a better option for building sites (where I mostly work) and shopping trips. However, I use it for all journeys out of town where parking is safe. I feel guilty using it for journeys where driving pleasure isn't an issue - feels like a caged tiger in town. It's so special opening up the garage and taking the cover off first thing on a Sunday morning and hitting the Moors for a decent blast.

Your friend will love his Elise no matter what he uses it for.
