I think Lotus built far too many limited editions for them to hold major value in the short term. 135R's are decent money for their age though. I think if you hang onto any Lotus up till now at some point in the future you may have a future classic on your hands, the new cas they are "talking" about building look to be moving away from the Colin Chapman era..

Personally I think the Paul Matty car is way over priced. And don't forget that just because someone asks that much doesn't mean they get it
Don't forget we have a JC in the family as well as my T25 so we do watch residuals too…...
Couldn't agree more. £27.5 seems absolute tops for me. When I was buying (Jan 2014) someone offered me a JC 2008 car with 18000 miles for £24500. Ended up with an Exige. Don't regret my choice. Just miss the open air but can't have it all. Next year I'll perhaps invest in the soft top, although its not critical. Still like the looks and colour of the JC car. It will always fetch a slight premium but remains one of many 'special edition' cars, which aren't really any more special than the normal car asides one or two bits and the paint scheme. Don't forget we have a JC in the family as well as my T25 so we do watch residuals too…...

Ditto, I was thinking the same. Some of his cars are priced unrealisticallyDon't forget we have a JC in the family as well as my T25 so we do watch residuals too…...
Thread Resurrection...
I've always wanted one of these. Not many modern ish cars out there that weigh under 900kg, set a benchmark in handling and can carry of British Racing Green! (and suffer such low depreciation).
218bhp/ 870kg
0-60mph in 4.3 seconds and a 148mph top speed.
Ive had to be very patient as they don't come up too often. 2 in the last 12 months! Finally one came up privately a week and a half ago on here (Build No 21/25) and I happen to spot it by chance 😬 Private sale from an utter gentleman who's really cherished this stunning example of what Lotus does best...
Not wanting to miss it I paid asking price over the phone and wasn't dissapointed last Friday when I picked her up! First impressions are OMG it's just gorgeous in the flesh, photos don't do justice to its stance, so purposeful! It's quick too😉

This one isn't mine (American) but seeing this photo made me want one more! Just so focussed. It's got a v firm ride, the shocks have been described as a bit crashy but tonne that just means it's an uncompromised track focussed road car. Its light like the recently announced Sprint.. Build quality is superb and the way it drives is magic. Bespoke and special, it's like owning a racing car that works and doesn't cost silly money.. Get a lot of smiles and positive attention everywhere.. you won't be dissapointed I promise.
Enjoy the hunt!

The shocks aren't crashy at all. Horribly bouncy, but that's a quite different thing. The ride can be transformed by fitting something decent.
Haven't been on track yet, if its bouncy then I'll have to do something about it... what do you use? Compared to my old Evora it seems to find holes in the road that don't exist! go significantly faster and the suspension starts to work but still pretty harsh.

I had the same shocks on my s2 exige s sport pack.
They were as most say very firm when you don't need them to be and awfully soft enducing allot of body roll in the corners.
Best thing I did was fitting the Bilstein adjustables, transformed the car.
Thanks for the input re Bilstein suggestion, will see how she fairs on track in July. They were as most say very firm when you don't need them to be and awfully soft enducing allot of body roll in the corners.

Was hoping the OEM suspension would be just right on track.. Previous owner had a geometry done when new tyres were fitted in October by a well know specialist in the midlands, fingers crossed that's been done properly.
I sold mine no23 in Jan this year but it went to France. A lot of interest here but too ponderous. 2 best mods were swapping the shocks for standard OEM Billies used on the normal SC, it transformed the ride. They came with Exige shocks. 2nd was a gas boot lid strut from GRP in the States.
They are lovely cars, and if I could have kept it I would've. But only allowed one toy!

First outing on track in the JC last month... Probably the cheapest car there but not the slowest! In fact it got a lot of attention and admiration, fantastic!
Balance was brilliant, RS Pagids are highly recommended.. two solid days (Spa and Zolder) and there's still plenty left in them, I won't be changing a thing to this car.. its brilliant!
No 24 might be for sale...
