If the Factory SC install is so good why are so many either buying aftermaket SC's or if they have one already getting aftermarket Intercoolers, charge coolers, exhaust systems and proper re-maps.

Once you have had a "Proper Remap" on the SC Toyota you would never go back to the heap of Cr4p Lotus sell you.

Have to agree with Scuffers on teh Pontificating thumbup

But he was the one saying that 'apart from Charlie who's disappeared' no-one has managed to achieve a 'proper remap'! He has also previously advised people thinking about supercharging to 'wait'. However following this advice would now appear to make someone unworthy to be one of his customers! I had no idea it was such an honour!

Perhaps Exige77 would be so kind to inform me where I or anyone else interested could get a 'proper remap'?

Spending thousands on upgrading a car when according to an 'expert' this cannot be done properly makes no sense at all.

If you, like others here, think everything Lotus do is so 'crap' why would you buy one at all?

I don't think scuffers needs any 'followers' he worships himself enough as it is!

Lotus make a great chassis which is why we buy them and love them.

Most enthusiast have up-graded most other things like suspension, brakes, oil system, cooling system and engine. You then end up with a really good package.

If you want a proper bespoke re-map you must go To Essex Autosport. (formally Sinclares)

I just got mine back today after a re-map to cover some new minor mods.

The Map is better than OEM.

Even if you buy the Lotus kit, take it to Essex and get a proper map specially for "Your" car,

You know you're worth it.

Sinclairs? Apparently my hard earned cash isn't good enough.

I wonder how many other people have been put off the place by scuffers' rude, patronising and arrogant posts? He's as charming and articulate as a hackney looter. It's a wonder they don't put a muzzle on him. They probably have no idea that he's on here insulting potential customers but it's their loss either way.

Scuffers is nothing to do with Sincs / Essex Autosport.
He is however a well repsected doer in the Lotus community.

I don't imagine your business will be missed.

I'd say one less problem customer is a good thing...

Leave it stock and be happy.

I've been reading this thread through also and as it's a bit old now I wondered what the current thinking is in terms of ECU upgrades that are well integrated. I have just swapped from an '03 S2 to an '06 111r.

Looked on Elise Parts and can only see K series ECU's.

Any input is most welcome thank you.

Funnily enough I was just down at Komo-tec this morning. They sold me a used front caliper for 50 Euros so jobs a goodun.

This was my first trip there but my overall impression was positive. I was in their workshop which was very professional. They also have lots of business at the moment from all over Europe which suggests their service is good. Based on what I have seen I am happy to drop the car down to them in April for a geo and a cam belt change.

The problem is the ECU and has been for years, if you want a supercharged yota, thats not going to give you any hassels or issue's resale time, i'd just say go the official lotus S/C package it's not that expensive and gives 220hp which i expect is more than enough for most people in an Elise

Thank you Peter. Is there then a 'go to' company to get that done? I'm in Worcestershire.

Thanks, Nick

Essex Autosport are the only company that can do a custom re-map for the Yota ECU in the UK.

If you are looking for an aftermarket supercharger kit their Katana is the best IMHO.

Well priced, proven record and can be remapped to your precise requiremnts.

Once installed your regular maintainer can take care of it.

Thank you very much.

It would seem my options are the Tsukuba Track for a NA approach, or the Katana super charger or the Katana SC with chargecooler.

Is it still true that the gearbox on a 111r will struggle with this sort of output (240-260hp)? As I read it above somewhere.

Thanks again.

I would have thought any lotus main dealer or good independant would be able to do it for you, it's just ordering the parts from lotus and then installing them

Try Nick Wale i think they are/used to be the main dealer in your area so may be able to do it

At the end of the day, it's a pretty much bolt on kit, and unless you want a lot more power, the official one is the best, it's competively priced and wont hurt resale at all

http://www.essexautosport.com/content/upgrades/upg...

The above place do there own supercharger kit + the factory official supercharger kit aswell, just use the internet and ring around till you find a place near you that does it, i dont think it will take to much searching

You will probably be OK with 240~60. Worth fitting an oil cooler for the box at £500 and some decent oil and you should be OK. The Jubu gear upgrade is about £2K.

The gearbox feel is not great but with a Letsla gear linkage kit, motorsport engine mounts and some patient adjustment you can get it pretty good.

Have a chat with Wayne at Essex.
