Abject apologies Dom, I got it wrong. Time flies, eh? (I try to be totally honest, so it's irritating when I get something wrong).
Lee, hope you recover quickly. My trip into hospital isn't far away either...

Good luck. Never a pleasant experience but I always figure that remembering the alternative (i.e. no possibility of treatment) cheers me up!d18mca said:

Hope you make a full and quick recovery.I wasn't allowed to drive for two months after my surgery, which made for some extreme reading and watching of DVD;s especially at 4 in the morning while wide awake!
Again,hoping you're fighting fit ASAP.

Thanks Davy. I'm doing pretty well to be honest. But it's the thought of all the weeks without driving, and further weeks being cautious about so many things that's driving me even more gaga than usual.Hope you make a full and quick recovery.I wasn't allowed to drive for two months after my surgery, which made for some extreme reading and watching of DVD;s especially at 4 in the morning while wide awake!

Although the not driving does sort of nip the arguements in the bud about how much I can drink when we go to the pub Every cloud...
Well, I've driven it too now and I have to say I'm very impressed; a very noticeably more linear power delivery, more low-down torque, *so* much smoother, and the 'demented sewing machine' noise is now almost completely absent.
Once RG have some more FFF2 heads in, and we've agreed a price, I'll be specifying a FFF2 head and Syvecs for my Sagaris. Not sure yet if I'll have the Syvecs done later to spread the cost - we'll see on that.

Jon, without wanting to start a bun fight here, might be worth having a drive of Doms 4.5 ss, mine is nearly run in now and is just as you describe above, quiet, very smooth, loads of grunt, 5 year warranty, or more than welcome to have a lift in mine Once RG have some more FFF2 heads in, and we've agreed a price, I'll be specifying a FFF2 head and Syvecs for my Sagaris. Have they built your FFF2 yet ?
Dom
No, I'm still waiting on the availability of a head. But it suits my personal circumstances at the moment for it to be taking this long, for reasons I don't really want to go into but suffice to say it's useful for my assets to be lower at the moment. So annoying as an engine failure has been, it kinda came at the right time. Dom

I hear were your coming from, what failed on the original Factory build
First one was detonation on #6 cylinder causing welding and general bad st. It was a warranty rebuild so had to be rebuilt to factory spec. The fact the Warranty Company then wriggled out of paying is a sore point but well in the past now. This one was a valve seat falling out when the engine was hot but I was parked up. Then when I restarted the engine it munged the cylinder and head.
Ironically, the head and valve seats were pretty much all that was original on the engine after the first rebuild.
