I wonder what Dom will use as his test bed now. He has a few interesting projects on the go that I was getting added to mine.
Don't know but I suppose before long he is going to have to broaden his target market, only so many TVRs to service and rebuild and if you are as confident in your rebuild as he is then that market will decline as they wont be needing rebuilding as often.Know he has talked in the past about Lambo,s, sure he had a Gallardo in the past if not still. Wouldn't be at all surprised if he became a British/ Italian specialist and maybe even Porsche. Got to be a good way to expand your business and keep it profitable and I know Dom likes to have a bit of a challenge and get the feeling that the Speed 6 might not be offering that anymore.
Even though I am probably leaving the marque I will still follow Dom's progress with interest as if nothing else his line of banter with paying customers is always entertaining.

Hi Kev, More than happy for Dom to expand his business is whatever direction he likes - you have to to remain profitable, especially now. I was just wondering if he is still continuing with TVR development or focusing on other things. I'm assuming he will be doing both. Really nice guy, so I wish him all the best in whatever he does! Hi AlexSorry if that read that he might leave the TVR market, meant I could see him expanding the business to include other marques in order that he would have enough business to keep profitable.
Totally agree with the really nice guy bit he has helped me out no end and at times at very short notice.
I think Dom could do a lot worse that to approach new TVR owner Les Edgar to provide reliable, resilient and robust 4.0, 4.3 and 4.5 Speed6 engines for the new cars.... He's one of the best in the position to do that I would have thought.. All previosu Speed6 issues appear to be sorted now and it's a great engine.
Except there is a 'better' engine out there.... The only difference is that people have got an axe to grind (rightly or wrongly) against the company in question, and Dom is a lot better at keeping the customer on-side.
I really hope he doesn't leave the TVR world, and instead is going for an even better TVR, far rarer...

The reason Dom actually keeps his customers is that he is effectively delivering his products instead of throwing out promises and coming back on them, ending up selling nothing but "air".I really hope he doesn't leave the TVR world, and instead is going for an even better TVR, far rarer...

Totally aware of that fact Don, and if I'd have gotten what I paid for, I'd be happy too, wouldn't you think?
It's simple economics.
Get money, deliver product = happy customer(s).
Don't deliver product, keep money and car = unhappy customer(s).
Ask for even more money when customer pulls plug after 6 years... I think you get the idea where the more than slight "dislike" comes from (and is entirely attributable to the multiple failures on the very first basics of a sales transaction by said vendor).

As good as the Speed 6 engine now appears to be it would, in my opinion, be a mistake to put that engine in any new car. Mud sticks and in the mind of the general car buying public it's a fragile and unrealiable engne. Even now it's a fiddly engine to keep in tune if you don't look after it and I'd suggest that it would quickly become a millstone around the new companies neck.V8 GRF said:
