Is there a TURBO Speed Six engine?
Discussion
Unfortunatley it looks like Pascal can be added to the list of TVR owners who have spent fortunes, been promised great things but in the end have recieved very little for there money!!
AT least Dom at TVR Power builds and tests his products at his own expense, It seems like some others use customers money and cars to fund there test projects and in the end the customer is the one left suffering.

As is the way of the TVR community, the news spreads by means other than these forums.
The company concerned is well known to TVR owners in the South.
5+ years is a hell of a long time to wait for a car - even with cutting edge improvements...I also understand the price is into 6 figures, rather than 10's of thousands.
I believe it is in the hands of lawyers now.
I just hope Pascal sees a sensible outcome.

I fail to see why there is such mystical prowess given to turbocharging.
Its not that difficult to work out, it can be a bit trial and error if going for really big power or trying to maintain high compression for responsiveness, or doing it on miniscule budgets (or a combination of all three)......but to turbo an engine, get it running and well managed and last longer than five minutes on a dyno really isnt rocket science if the right people are involved.
Believe me, I have spent plenty going to the wrong people in the past, but the simple fact is that a custom set of liners, pistons and rods should cost no more than £5k (and I am assuming best of the best all custom made to spec rather than off the shelf stuff) and without knowing the limits of the crank then maybe another 3k for that. Add in head work, all valvetrain and such as well as gaskets or ringing, and such would probably see off another £3k, £2k more for custom cams.
On a larger displacement engine like a 3.6 or 4.0 AJP then I would possibly consider a small pair of turbos which makes manifolds significantly smaller and simpler/lighter but not knowing if theres room then maybe go for something that looks like Pascals (which looks GT35R size to my brief look at his one photo) then all of that with turbo/s should cost no more than £5k in fact probably less than £3k and spend the difference on cooling.
Motec management, dyno time, labour, fab and everything else I cant see why even with the finest F1 quality components you couldnt have a 200bhp/litre engine for well under £25k rather than the £43,ooo thats being thrown around here. PPG, Hollinger or even a Quaiffe sequential for another 10k and you still have 8k left for suspension/drivetrain and other goodies to make use of your extra 350horsepower !!

Thanks Nick, Pascal mentioned £43k + another bill for more work undertaken before he can get his car back, but as the thread is gone we cant really be sure!As is the way of the TVR community, the news spreads by means other than these forums.

Regardless, i know who they are, i learned my lesson about them 3 weeks after buying my car
Pascal I am really sorry to learn about your car.... But I can honestly say that Dom will see you right. He has sorted my mess out, after yet another melt down I have given up on the supercharger .... Dom has done me a huge service and slotted in a newly built Power 4.5 S6 engine with a 5 year unlimited mileage warranty it makes total and utter sense.... Its just taken me a hell of a long time to come to my senses....

I see a VERY sensible outcome. NO engine delivered = NO money to be paid ergo money returned in my bank account. Commercially and economically totally viable IMO. Not in the other parties opinion. But hey, I'll keep quiet, as I've been asked to. I don't want to "harm their business"...
